RE:MORATORIUM ON PART-TIME PROGRAMMES.


1. It would be recalled that the NUC ,vide a publication in the print media,
including the Guardian and Sunnewspapers of 19th March, 2012 placed a
moratorium on admission intopart time programmes in Nigerian universities.

The publication requested theuniversities to fully disclose all part time programmes with
respect toenrolment and staffing profile within four weeks of the publication as well as
conduct in house staff and student audit

2. As a follow up, the commissionconvened a meeting with Registrars and Directors of Academic
Planning ofNigerian universities on 15th November, 2012 to which theuniversities were
requested to bring detailed information on their part time programmes.
