Car Maintenance In Nigeria by tit(f): 7:07pm On Apr 15, 2013 |
I have 2002 Toyota Sienna and I am surprised at the level of maintenance it needs. Every 3 months or 3000 miles I just go get an oil and oil filter change. Daz all! I guess the fuel filter was changed at 90,000 miles but the car is now close to 150,000 miles and I have not changed the brake pads since I got the car in 2007. Changing brake pads was a recurring decimal for me in Naija. I check the air filter myself and dust it off as needed. it has looked clean for the past 12 months. no need for even a dustoff. I guess I have been lucky. No major breakdowns. back in Naija, routine maintenance could eat you up. I had cars that did not have air filters. air filters were 'expensive' and the mechanics did not seem to mind the absence of one. I had to change plugs and fuel filters every 3 months. ( do not remind of having fuel pump failure and having to go to the used parts market). |
