She teaches women to believe in themselves and in a vague god of their own imagination.

She speaks of the miracle of life and the blessing of salvation, but it is a salvation through self will apart from repentance and faith in the blood of Christ. She speaks of faith, but it is a faith in self not a faith in the Christ of Calvary. She teaches women to follow their hearts, but fails to warn them that "the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked" (Jer. 17:9). She preaches moralism, but it is not the absolute divine morality as taught in the Scriptures. Oprah told the crowds, "The universe is speaking to you right now, in the voice of Oprah Winfrey."

Just last night some news filtered in about the discovery of a new planet and with the initial analysis scientists are optimistic that they are one step closer to the discovery of extra terrestrial life. How would that affect YOU if they showed u proof of alien forms of life?

the discovery of scientific data is not the same thing as interpretation of the data.

For example evolutionists and creationists actually have acess to the same scientific evidence , yet they botht interprete it to mean different things due to their different world views.

As such evolutionist would interprete the data of new planets as evidence for aliens and non-existence of God, yet the creationist would describe it as a evidence of the fufillment of scripture which says that the heavens declare God's glory and God's creation.

i made a thread on oprah a few months ago and some of our nairaland members stood by everything she said. this woman is misleading people. the sooner people understood this the better for everyone especially the female race.
people should have minds of their own and not listen to someone because she is influential.

And that is typical of what the American liberalists have come to accept. I love her, i watch her show sometimes and i will pray for her because it is only by the power of God that she and her adoring fans can be saved.

Oprah made the point that she couldn't reconcile the idea of a Jealous God with the idea of a Loving, omnipotent omni-everything God. I personally consider Jealousy one of the meanest, lowliest and repulsive of emotions that a human being can have. This is what I feel about jealous people so when someone tells me that God, not a person, is like that I find it hard to swallow.

It makes me wonder what exactly is that hebrew word that has been translated as Jealousy in the english language. Does it really have the same connotations that Jealousy has to us today?

jesus answered the question when he said . . ."i am the way, the truth and the life" note that jesus is the truth and pilate was starring at the truth but did not recognise it.

I listen to Oprah, I watch her shows and I like her. I'm not interested in what religion she subscribes to. She's a worldly person but she's done more good for people and has encouraged more women in my generation than most churches and Christians I know. She's fulfilling her purpose. Even those who preach the authentic gospel of the Lord get bashed all the time. Oprah has never pretended to be a super spiritual woman.

I agree with you. But you see, that's the problem. someone like Oprah has the ability to influence her adoring fans in a very subtle way. she may not even have set out to do so, btut like it or not, she does get across to lots of ppl.

Everyone has a role model, shouldnt be any shame or blame in that. Yes,I think this tread is legit, if indeed thats all it is; a warning- afterall the Bible says that we should gaurd our hearts with all deligence, for out of it are the issues of life.
