One of the popular words that follow the word ‘hamburger’ is ‘America’ – thanks to franchises such as McDonald, Burger King, and others.

You may want to think twice before buying a happy meal for your child or consuming that double cheese burger. Why? Because a Utah resident, David Whipple, who recently sent his 14 year old hamburger to a TV show called ‘The Doctors” proved that the burger never changed.

Whipple bought the burger on July 7, 1999. He forgot it in the pocket of his coat for a month. His wife noticed it two years later and realized the burger still looked the same. Fast-forward fourteen years later, the hamburger patty has no mold or fungus. Only the pickle is gone. Everything else is intact.

Choosing to be healthy begins with making healthy food choices. I choose to be healthy. Nowadays, fast food – quick and easy seems like the best way to go. However, it causes some internal damages to the body system. Whipple kept the receipt as his proof; he wants to inspire his grandchildren of the importance of making healthy eating habits.

In all fairness to McDonald’s, here’s their response to Whipple’s discovery: "McDonald’s hamburgers are freshly prepared in our restaurants. While not knowing the conditions in which the food was kept in this specific claim, what is scientifically known is that in bacteria and mold only grow under certain conditions. McDonald's hamburger patties in the U.S. are made with 100% USDA-inspected beef. They are cooked and prepared with salt, pepper and nothing else - no preservatives - no fillers."
