CrushX: Do you think they would? I am very cynical and think that a lot of cures can be found but what they are really interested in is creating medicines to 'manage' diseases, so we can pour more money into the industry. Anybody else that cynical?
What you said can't be further from the truth..why produce a cure immediately when you can make billions from anti-retroviral drugs to 'manage' the disease?...or do you think the companies that invested millions of dollars for research on retroviral drugs will just fold hands and allow and immediate cure without recovering their monies?.I believe that has ALWAYS been a cure to hiv..

This is all garbage. All you conspiracy theorists who have no proof of anything but just come on faceless forums to spew thrash never cease to amaze me grin grin grin grin

Even your line of reasoning doesn't make sense, so they won't make money from the cure what about the countless other diseases that have no known cures like cancers and the rest... it's also so the pharmaceutical companies can make mo money grin grin grin

Wetin we no go hear for this faceless forum grin grin grin

Call it thrash..not my problem..but if you claim to be 'reasonable'.you should be able to respect people's view or make your counter-points 'reasonably'...I may not have a concrete proof of what I initially said but,I have an elder brother who graduated with top honors in pharmacy(Lasuth)..he told me the complex and sometimes dirty maneouverings of pharmaceutical companies(which will be too long to post)..I once showed him the news of a nigerian scientist on the verge of 'discovering' a cure for hiv..and he said "we know how these things go,mark my words,he will retract his statement after 2 weeks..they(whoever 'they' are) will make him an offer he can't refuse"..and true to word,it happened exactly the way he predicted..or do you 'reasonably' believe only the western world have the capacity or intellect to come up with a cure?..

So, the fact that he retracted his statement equated that an offer has been made!!

Very 'reasonable'.

Do you have a better opinion to why the nigerian scientist(and many others before him) have been silenced permanently after their claim to discover a cure? If truely the cure wasn't viable(as some of the international bodies claim),what stopped them(the nigerian scientists) from furthering or improving on it?....pray do tell..

Perhaps because they have not reached the intellectual capacity described in your previous post.

Why have the Nigerian scientists not found the cure for diabetes, cancer and all other untreatable diseases?

Oh, they were silenced too?

Why not go on the HIV website and go through the contents and see various countries carrying out continuous researches and their publications. Thailand being one of the main research centres.

The man that your brother claimed was 'silenced', what was his specialist research area? What were his previous medical publications, which research agency does he work for, where does he get funding from? Which research method is he using?

These are the questions I expect you or your top honours brother to ask. Not just come up with unsubstantiated blanket claims that he was silenced.

As your brother is a scientist, I don't expect your brother to say
that.

I will say it again in very simple terms so you can understand, the reason hiv has no cure is because the virus creates hideouts when it enters the body. what i mean is some become latent and stay in the body undetected by the immune system, some are actively replicating. Plendil explained this succinctly. The ARVS(Antiretrovirals) deal with those actively replicating, killing them but it's an endless battle because through processes not fully known those that are latent in the cells get reactivated, keep on replicating and create more hideouts. it's a never ending vicious cycle, and that's why hiv positive people are forever dependent on the drugs to manage it cos the drugs cannot penetrate the dna of the body cells to drive out the latent hiv there.

This cure they said, hopefully forces all the hiv to come out from their hideouts, which means they are all awaken from their latent state and forced to be seen by the immune system. If they can succeed, this alone is a great step forward because the body's immune system will deal with it aided with the ARVS, it will be totally destroyed. And that would be the end to the whole drama.

talking sensibly. Ride on my informed brother. Your posts are most educative and informative , some guys are just pandering with words showing unnecessary intellectual understanding without educating us the Engineers on the true state of affairs in t he medical world.

hitmanogo: Nice try. ...let's pray it works. .... that reminds me HIV is not this people's problem yet they are dedicating much to save people who have the problem. ... While people that are affected are doing more to misappropriate money given as aids and grants. ...anyway God is watching us. ...
