Oil And Gas Training For Engineers by Nobody: 11:22am On Apr 16, 2008 |
As a skilled engineer your chances of getting employed is quite unlimited. The energy industry has never a time been more demanding for structural, mechanical and electrical installations of oil & gas structures in terms of design and analysys. It might come as a surprise what one can use various softwares to achieve as an employee or as a consultant.Multinational companies harness the powers of engineering softwares in thier projects. A team of young engineers knowledgable in relevant engineering softwares have come up with an affordable training plan to help the average engineer acquire all the skills needed to use in the oil and gas industry. The main focus will be in the following areas: 1. Pipe design using CAD tools 2. Structural design & support analysis using CAD tools 3. Administering Computer aided softwares. Course content will include but not limited to: Stress Analysis Introduction to stress-strain relationships What is stress analysis Purpose of piping Stress analysis How piping and components fail When piping and components fail Stress categories Classification of loads Requirements of ASME B31.3 (process piping) Computer Aided Stress analysis Introduction to Caesar II Piping Input Computer Aided pipe Design Introduction to 3d Design and Modeling GA’s P&Id’s Drawing to codes and standards Structural Design Equipment Design with PDMS Pipe Design with PDMS Drawing output with PDMS Exporting Produced drawing (DXF) AutoCAD , Caesar II Production and printing of isometrics, GA’s Training will commence in the month of May and will be for 2 weekends for each trainee (Saturday and Sunday). There will be two batches in May. Starting on the 3rd of May, 2008 for the first batch and ending on Sunday the 11th of May. Second batch will commence on the 17th of May to end on the 25th of May. The training will be held at Thomas & Wright 3rd floor 5a Western Avenue, Ojuelegba Lagos. Training will start by 8am to end by 4pm on Saturdays. On Sundays, training will start by 12 noon to end by 4pm. Cost of training will be N20, 000 per trainee and early registration is advised so as to secure a slot in the month of May since there will only be a maximum of 8 trainees in one batch. aysometin, ds training is da bomb! my question is this; how will one gain mastery over those softwares in just two weekends? who is really organising this training? please just convince us is not a way to rip people off, |

@Kinsbrooks I understand yur point but look practise makes perfect. when you are taught how to use softwares, you keep on making use of them personally till you become perfect, its like going to a driving school. On a more serious note, the engineers in charge are seasoned and have taught various engineers on the use of various softwares. All they need is willin and attentive individuals who are ready to learn and ask questions when they dont understand a point. a trial will convince you. @Kaytye, Thanx my brother. |

This is very true. I recommend this training most especially for those who are fresh graduates, it will increase their chance of getting equiped then employed. |
