IS THIS A CITY IN NAIJA?!?! - Pictures by Kairoseki77: 3:38am On May 06, 2013 |
Hope you are having a good day! It's easy to look at the problems we face as a nation (Boko Boys, 'everyone must be dashed' mentality, thieving politicians, bad roads, no jobs, failing hospitals, violent tribalism, etc) and feel like we are not moving forward as a nation. It's easy to feel like we will never reach the promised land, or that the promised land of a rich and prosperous 9ja is something our Grandkids will enjoy, instead of us. However.....with the right leadership anything is possible! In 1990, Shanghai looked like this: In 2010...it looked like this: Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. - Malcolm X What are you doing today to make it happen? |

Abuja came out of an empty land to what it is today. Compare what Abuja was in 1990 to what it is today. |

hotmolo: Its easy 4 us to aplaud transformation. Bt 4get dat those residential houses u see must have had to b demolished and families displaced 4 does multi million dollar office buildings to be there. We SHOULD be demolishing those houses. It is better for everybody. The children of the people who lived in those shacks are MUCH better off in modern China, than they could ever hope to be in old China. That is why I will always applaud governors like Fashola who have the courage to think long term and affect real change. If the whole country is covered in slums, should we leave the slums there and try to get by, or should we demolish the slums and develop the land so that the people who live in the slums can have a better life? The obsession with "protecting" poverty is what leads western nations to send us aid instead of trading with us as equals. They don't want to "disturb" our "traditional" ways of life and replace them with things like modern healthcare, education, roads, electricity, etc. If man never reached for something better, we would all still be living naked in caves, because we would be too scared of "destroying" an animal to make clothes. Or "destroying" the flow of nature by making farms. Or "destroying" pristine land to make settlements, cities, and countries. |
