The great and uncompared achievements of goodluck ebele jonathan is something to be praised with all alarcrity.GEJ has been a major frontliner to make the project called Nigeria work. It tend to amaze me when writers from the west who have microscopic knowledge about the gigantic development in Nigeria today write about our beloved country.I stand to challenge the writer of that article if he/she had been to Nigeria since he/she was born.all this lost race who look back to abuse to fatherland.omoyele sowore of sharareporters is number one LOST RACE |

Any government agent should know his or her job and can even defend the devil as was done for the worst leaders in history. So Reno has to earn his salary by official flattery. But the performance of any government is not judged on the pasting of public relations articles on the pages of newspapers and websites, but from the realities of the living conditions of the majority of the citizens on the streets. Even a visit to Bayelsa State is enough to show any literate and sane person the incompetence of the former governor who is now the President of Nigeria. Who is fooling whom? 2 Likes |

I will not doubt the fact here that some nigerians will inspite of this detailed appraisal of jona's performance for less than three years, will still ask what has jona done or achieved? These are those i refer to as emptiness. |

"Adekoya may wish to note that Nigeria’s Life Expectancy increased from 47 years to 51 years according to the 2011 Human Development Index of the United Nations." It's a shame that Mr. Reno will be bragging with such figure when the Life expectancy for HOMELESS people in US as at 2009 was estimated between 42 - 52 years. Source: http://www.nationalhomeless.org/factsheets/health.html With all his so called achievements he listed, can he please put cost to them? How much of Nigeria's money was spent on these things he has listed as achievements? Is the cost commensurate with the project? By the way, he tactically avoided Mr. Adekoya's comments about Jonathan & corruption. 2 Likes |

qwest: We should juxtapose the 'achievements' of GEJ to that of the first tenure of OBJ and rightfully, that of IBB's. IBB encountered a period of low oil prices, decreasing revenue and austerity, yet the roads and bridges (like the third mainland), infrastructural estab lishment (completion of Abj) amongst other things. If GEJ and his cohorts keep holding tenaciously to the completion of the Lagos-Kano rail, awarded and conceived by OBJ's regime; or the executive passage of an award for the establishment of universities not even fully started, private renal treatment centre, among other things as an achievement, we really must question such. Given that with the low resources IBB had to work and his achievements, Nigerians have branded his a failed government; one has to wonder at what to brand GEJ's with the abundance of revenue at his disposal? Kilo omode mo? |

Nice write up and well articulated. Now Mister enough of the grammar, let's do a reality check! How come most of your examples are at abuja! In all your analysis, which of the good jobs of Mr President watered down to the poor? (Did I forget his fuel subsidy joke) ! How many deaths have we witnessed in Nigeria in this administration! How long will it take your supposed peace and amnesty talk to start! I can bet you have never used the roads recently and close your eyes to the news on the death toll on road users. The fact that you are paid to sing does not exempt you from having a conscience. We deserve peace and security! If the health system is so sound, why do Mr Jonathan and your likes still line up in foreign hospitals? 4 Likes |

contact lenz: The twitter lapdog licking Jonathan arse to justify his pay. As an intellectual I feel its pertinent that you try and engage in meaningful constructive and inteligent arguement rather than always seeking for avenues for unprovoked insult and random use of vulgar language: having read through an interesting and intelligent write-up like this (that is if you even read through), one expects you to make efforts at either disputing any of the points he (writer) made or affirming it in an intelligent manner befitting of a young intellectual rather than this your out-pouring of unnecessary invectives . Please go and up-grade. |

New crescent: Mr. Adekoya forgot to tell his British audience that while it may be true that Nigeria still does not generate enough electricity for its population, the Jonathan administration has nonetheless increased generation from the 2800 MWs it met on ground to the present 4500 MWs Nigeria generates today a 35% improvement. But that is not even the main story. This administration has kept faith with the Roadmap to Power Sector Reforms that the President launched on August 22nd 2010 which in summary charted a course for the privatization of the nation's power sector. oAs for me Rumukwuta/Mgbuogba area Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. 16 hrs of light in a MONTH. It is as if the 4500MW GEJ and RENO is talking about was ripped off from this area. We are in total blackout. |

"The previously notorious Lagos-Ore- Benin motorway has been repaired and I personally supplied photographic evidence of that FEAT on Social Media" Indeed, our greatest problem in Nigeria is not corruption but celebration of mediocrity just as Femke Van Zeijl said recently. How can one term reconstructing a road 'feat' Lord please, come to our rescue. This is just too damn much. |

"It's no easy job running a country that is half-Christian, half-Muslim, underdeveloped and home to some 250 ethnic groups....." But perhaps the greatest testimonial to the administration’s efforts in roads comes from an advert from the privately owned luxury bus operator, ABC Transport, which reads 'The Roads are Getting Better’. This is from an end user of the product. ........Nigeria still does not generate enough electricity for its population, the Jonathan administration has nonetheless increased generation from the 2800 MWs it met on ground to the present 4500 MWs Nigeria generates today a 35% improvement. The press ought to learn to balance their reportage. An arm chair analyst is worse than a Boko Haramist. When shall we read positive stories from the press? |
