Just Anotha Nameless Junkie! by trips(m): 11:10am On May 14, 2006 |
Her hair hadn't seen a comb Or shampoo In months. She hadn't changed her clothes -- holey, ratted, filthy -- In just as long. She smelled of the rotting trash That was her bed, And of the cigarettes, alcohol, and Medley of drugs That were her nutrition. But she went anyway Because someone told her that God Loved her Just as she was And would never reject her, Even though the whole world did. So, that Sunday, She gathered up all that was left of her Hope And took it to a place she'd never been. She was late, so when she walked in, The whole congregation turned and Stared Glared Sneered. Some gasped. Mothers hid their children's eyes. Husbands whispered to their wives. She heard, "how dare she come here?" But, clinging to her hope, She stopped her quivering chin and Found an empty pew. The Preacher, from his lofty podium, Cleared his throat, then made his way Toward her. Her hope grew as she watched his gentle face And looked into his gentle eyes. And when he reached her, He smiled. She would have smiled back If she remembered how. She could feel her hope expanding In her fragile soul. Then the Preacher Softly Gently Sweetly Asked her to leave because she was causing a disturbance In his church. But she would be more than welcome If she would just clean herself up. So she walked out, Leaving all of her hope at the door. That night she gave herself nothing more than Her usual dose Of whatever vice she could find, But this time her body Couldn't take it And her bed of rotting trash Became her grave. |

Touching! Funny how we judge people God hasn't condemn. My question is who killed her? Herself, the Pastor or the congregation who believe they're more presentable to God than Her. |
