The Super Eagles earned themselves a climb up three places in May’s ranking released by the football governing body on Thursday Nigeria climbed up four places to finish in 28th spot in the global ranking of male senior teams in May as released by Fifa on Thursday. The Super Eagles were in 31st place in April. The African champions have seen their fortunes improve since winning the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in February. The Super Eagles started the year in 52nd spot and moved to 30th spot in February after their Afcon triumph. They fell to 31st place in April but have now risen to 28th. Cote D’Ivoire remain the highest ranked African team in 12th place. They are followed by Ghana in 22nd spot while Mali are in 26th spot. Since the Nation Cup ended there has been massive improvements by the players in the footballing team. |
