The North is living and trying desperately hard to keep believing a lie.
There is no united Northern front as we have just of recent come to understand. The north or at least the political jargon called "Northern Nigeria" was an amalgamated union of diverse ethno-religious peoples formulated from the colonial era. The north looks with each passing day like a Rucola Pizza.
The only echoing of such past unity is the singular and similar sounding rhetoric coming from the same or similar composed group- the Fulani/Hausa Caliphate.

The last election that saw GEJ into office, showed the physical strains and cracks of this once homogeneous political entity not only through the ballot but the aftermath of ethno-religious inspired crisis in southern Kaduna and Bauchi.

The cracks had begun since 1999. OBJ, in his well calculated step to check the overzealous and undue influence from this bloc, decided to appoint northerners from outside the traditional established routes. These Minorities (this classification only appears in the political landscape as there are a vibrant population of non-Muslim Hausa/Fulanis in the core north)were not always willing or could not be made to do the caliphate's agenda for power domination. These minority appointments also were quick to consolidate their power positions outside the caliphate.

The North as we are expected to believe is not AREWA's position or that of some political dinosaur whose rhetoric is as fossilized as they have become.

Even though callous remarks and pronouncements are not limited to the north as every sectional leadership in the name of free speech continue to spew garbage, the northern position over other's right to speak openly should be called in question.

Asari Dokubo's outburst normally would have been ignored but unfortunately the youths from the Niger-Delta are attracted to his fiery words not because they want war or seek secession but because of what they have come to perceive as the north's hypocrisy. The comparison and demand for amnesty for Boko-Haram from powerful corners as that granted the Niger-Delta Militias is another annoying call the Niger-Deltans seem unable to reconcile.

The Caliphate North should understand that their era of political dominance is over and will never return like the much-talked about Groundnut pyramids.
