That is true that the default action of the app is to automatically add all your contacts to the app. However you can always block any contact on an individual basis and solve that problem.

@OP whatsapp is da bomb !! My international SMS costs have come down a lot by using whatsapp. I also like some of the neat features like sharing pics, geographic location etc.

I outgrew BB pinging and grew into Whatsapp. It has been brilliant so far and no regrets. coupled with the fact that a certain network can now allow you to ping via Whatsapp upon N100 subscription. It is life made easier for at least some people.

now dat will seem mean or rude. itz beta hey weren't there in the first place. imagine choosing who sees you or not in the first place and not blocking them. That not withstanding i have been using whatsapp since early 2011, it rocks.

The best apps for chatting, sending pictures and videos. And the apps that made BlackBerry change its mind on BBM. Very very useful you'll love it.

It is ok,but less popular, most pple don't give much time to it,most pple are after bb pinging,pls wat is d difference?

ladanski: i don't know about other platforms but I ran it on android and the app was just great. It automatically syncs your phone contacts with the app and checks which of those contacts are on chaton. It is also data-friendly (it uses very little of your data resources.). Problem I faced was being unable to use the app on Wifi network and being unable to login with a different sim card.

You can login with a different no. My mtn line has always been in my Nokia E5 and I downloaded whatsapp into the phone which worked fine. Later I got an android phone + airtel line, downloaded whatsapp and registered whatsapp with my mtn number. My mtn line is still in my Nokia phone but I chat in whatsapp with my android phone till date.

You can easily block them by adding them to your block list, simple!
