As a skilled engineer your chances of getting employed is quite unlimited.The energy industry has never a time been more demanding for structural,mechanical and electrical installations of oil & gas structures in terms of design and analysys.It might come as a surprise what one can use various softwares to achieve as an employee or as a consultant.Multinational companies harness the powers of engineering softwares in their projects.

A team of young engineers knowledgable in relevant engineering softwares have come up with an affordable training plan to help the average engineer acquire all the skills needed to use in the oil and gas industry. The main focus will be in the following areas:

1. Pipe design using CAD tools
2. Structural design & support analysis using CAD tools
3. Administering Computer aided softwares.

Course content will include but not limited to:

Stress Analysis
Introduction to stress-strain relationships
What is stress analysis
Purpose of piping Stress analysis
How piping and components fail
When piping and components fail
Stress categories
Classification of loads
Requirements of ASME B31.3 (process piping)
Computer Aided Stress analysis
Introduction to Caesar II
Piping Input
Computer Aided pipe Design
Introduction to 3d Design and Modeling
GA’s P&Id’s
Drawing to codes and standards
Structural Design
Equipment Design with PDMS
Pipe Design with PDMS
Drawing output with PDMS
Exporting Produced drawing (DXF) AutoCAD , Caesar II
Production and printing of isometrics, GA’s

Training will commence in the month of May and will be for 2 weekends for each trainee (Saturday and Sunday). There will be two batches in May. Starting on the 3rd of May, 2008 for the first batch and ending on Sunday the 11th of May.
Second batch will commence on the 17th of May to end on the 25th of May.

The training will be held at
Thomas & Wright
3rd floor 5a Western Avenue, Ojuelegba
Lagos.

Training will start by 8am to end by 4pm on Saturdays.
On Sundays, training will start by 12 noon to end by 4pm.

Cost of training will be N20, 000 per trainee and early registration is advised so as to secure a slot in the month of May since there will only be a maximum of 8 trainees in one batch. Only registered candidates will be trained and it’s on a first come first serve basis.
