That's just wrong, it's a shame to think of people as just numbers. Collateral damage is unavoidable but shouldn't be sought out.

I understand you clearly and i want peace as much as every Nigerians want it but of what significant will an air strike be compare to the damage and ratio of terrorist and civilians to be killed in a single strike?
Remember, US has an option of air strike but went in and killed Osama even without recording a single casualty.
Osama was just one man (with a face) we're dealing with a FACELESS GROUD. Anyone could be a member, from the mei suya across the street to the bank manager in one's compound. Nothing like tactics, the aim is to extinguish ALL terrorists so anyone and everyone is game.

We agreed ON one Nigeria and anyone who wants to split this nation before its time will be fished out and punished. What happened to IBOs is now now happening to the North. Very soon it will be Civil war in the North........The Northern states against the Federal Government. And guess what, normal business activities will be going on in other parts of Nigeria......Is time for the North to cry. But my appeal is let the soldiers concentrate on the BOKO BOYS ONLY

E dey sweet 4 mouth.

Action film.

This our soldiers like to misyarn @ home, wen they are only seerving checkpoint duties in Mali, in areas outside the war zzone i.e the north. Cos the french doesn't bbelieve they r able to fight inside the hot areas due to lack of standard training n equipmment.

Same in darfur some years back, a whole nigerian platoon deserted their APC n weapons wen the fire from the rebels was too much for them, it was a scandal n embarrasment for the UN.

That's y International peacekeeping efforts prefer to keepp nigerian contingent on 'background/reserve status'.

#.. But in civilian territories, they can talk big n flex muscle, comics grin

How many years have the mighty sophisticated US military been fighting Al Queada? How many innocent lives have been lost? What have been the results? Al Queada is now stronger and more disperse. The solution to curbing terrorism is getting good intelligence. If your family is killed...part of the collateral damage...you will be seeking revenge...the military will now become your enemy. Iraq and Afghanistan are prime examples.Lastly, When you give the military the ok to launch an attack on its citizens in one area ...just remember its only a matter of time when they will find a reason to launch an attack in your area.

nigerian troops are serving in 8 troubled zones in africa as at now according to UN.org website the are the african contigent who have won most awards, and who told you that the are manning check points in mali? Nigerian press? Press that can not even report in boko haram hot zones in nigeria how would did the get to mali? Rather sit at home and cook up false news given by opposition party!

i knw since you a boko haram you would find ways always to create hatred against troops who have gone to sacrifice their life in war front, who have sleepless night so that ur islamic as.s.z brothers may sleep. No matter what you say; it doesnt change the fact that you are a islamist northener who is afraid of being wiped out by the armed forces thats what you guys do even in syria, afghanistan, pakistan, etc
I say nigerian troops kill them all

Not our forté in this country.

Re: Troops To Launch Air Strikes On Boko-Haram by gbrookes02: 1:07pm On May 17, 2013
One of the steps in best dealing with Boko-Haram and all other criminals as well is to allow all the people to be able to freely and properly arm themselves so that they can properly defend themselves, love ones, properties, etc. A people that is disarmed are most vulnerable to, and is just sitting ducks for all sorts of criminals who will still have their guns irrespective of the law. Its only the law abiding citizens who will not have any arms. More guns in everybody's hands will result in less crime. And anyone who uses their gun to defend themselves, etc. the government is not suppose to harass such persons for defending themselves.

When seconds count the police and military at best are minutes away. Also remember until the police arrives it is just you and the criminal(s) alone. The police can't be here, there and everywhere at the same time to protect you and everyone else. You is suppose to be your best protection at all times. No one else can do it as go as you to protect yourself at all times.

If the police can't 100% protect the prisons (from weapons, drugs, etc. getting in) where they have the greatest control then how can they protect you and the whole country at 100%. We all need to stop living in fools' paradise.

For more the issue of when a people is armed and allowed to defend themselves results in less crime, and when a people is disarmed by their government results in more crime including tyranny by their governments see the articles and audios to the links below:
