Abia state government is to set up a panel of enquiry into the immediate and remote cause of the collapse of a three storey building at Agbama, Umuahia which killed some occupants with a view to forestalling future occurrence. The state governor, chief Theodore Orji disclosed this while inspecting the site of the collapsed building. Chief TA Orji who had to cut short his official trip to Abuja to see things for himself,directed the owner of the building to produce the architect who drew the building as well as the contractor handling the project to answer to some questions. The governor stated that there must be some structural defects that led to the collapse of the building and used the opportunity to sympathize with the families of those who died in the incident. He described the incident as unfortunate and thanked all those who assisted in the rescue effort including the medicals, security personnel, and companies that provided equipment for the evacuation exercise. The governor who later visited survivors who are receiving treatment at the federal medical centre, Umuahia condoled with them over the sad incident and donated the sum of N500,000 to them to cater for their hospital bills. Earlier at the site, a representative of the company carrying out the evacuation of the collapsed building, Melborne construction company, Ikenna Balogu said 4 persons died in the incident while 3 are receiving treatment at the hospital, adding that they want to remove every debris at the site to ensure that no one is left. http://theyoungnews..com/2013/05/orji-cuts-short-visit-to-attend-to.html

When u look around the state there is a lot more to commend the Governor for, so opinnion leader i will applaud that you take a ride to the state (Abia) and see the legacy project , that the Governor have done in the state. |

For the records - T.A.Orji is the worst governor in Nigeria. Repeat - T.A.Orji is the worst thing that has ever happened to Abia state. He has only legacies of filth at Aba, no drainage, no road maintainance, touts collecting all sorts of imaginary fees and stealing the state dry to show for his 6 years stay in gvt house. This so called governor likes grandstanding and media show off a lot. His colleagues, the great Akpabio is there being awarded best governor in Africa (whatever that means) but Akpabio sure indeed is doing wonders in Akwa Ibom, while T.a.orji is always playing to the gallery and someone has the audacity to insult the intelligence of Abians by challenging someone to vist Abia and see. It is disheartening wen people say thief after orji is doing wonders in abia state. As a matter of fact tao is the worst governor in the whole of nigeria. Not a single road is constructed in his 6yrs term, no drainages, no security. Indiscriminate dumping of refuse, touts and street urchins collecting levies for govt.
