gluv01: Long ago, Ear was a beautiful woman, and she was looking for bridegroom so that she can get married. She was approached by big and small creatures. All kinds of creatures expressed their love towards her. The mosquito was also interested in asking for her hand, but Ear refused to entertain the mosquito, and spoke sarcastically that the mosquito is weak and will die within a week. So the mosquito was hurt by her comments. From that day onwards the mosquito goes to the ear and says that it has not died, but is still alive.lol...what a 9c story |

The simple reason why mosquitoes do that is the favourable and adequate carbon di oxide concentration around the ear region. More often than not they tend to 'buzz' around their because the peripherally positioned Carbon-di-oxide seem more enjoyable than that closer to the nostrils putting proximity and concentration as factors. |

It is not carbon dioxide(gas), it is carbon. The ear is darker due to higher concentration of carbon and not carbon dioxide. |

Its not a intentional/deliberate action. Their wings make the noise and so when they fly to the head region, you just hear it. Why will the mosquito want to wake you up and stop eat it from enjoying its meal. If it had its way, it would stop the wings from making such harmful noise. |

because the mosquito asked the ear to marry him and the ear laughed at him saying that he(the ear) was too skinny and could die anytime soon so the mosquito drops by the ear everytime to prove that he is not dead. |
