Religious and tribal bigotry has beclouded the minds of a lot of Nigerians. People with bigoted tribal affiliation aren't interested in the truth about Buhari, perhaps they prefer spreading rumors. I believe some are actually paid to perpetuate slander. Unfortunately, for gullible folks who fail to see through the character assassination attacks on Buhari's person, its easy to decieve them that Buhari is the bane of Nigeria's woes. That being said... I stand for the truth and sustainable development I'm an ardent supporter of Buhari because I believe he has the will and ability to change Nigeria if given the chance. His antecedents as Head of State and PTF chief speaks volumes of his will and ability. He's continuous call for free and fair election says a lot about he's willingness to be democratic. Only bigots and haters would oppose that he's simply incorruptible. 4 things I'd love to see a president focus on * Curbing corruption : Only someone like Buhari with a clean record can fight it because corruption fights back. Reduce corruption and a lot of societal norms will fall in place. # Real growth and development that the people would feel. * Implementing democratic discipline : Take a cue from what Nigeria was when WAI (War Against Indiscipline) was active. Nigeria needs sanity. Nigerians need enforced laws that discriminate indiscipline. I laud Fashola's progress on this subject. * Education : Gross ignorance is killing Nigerians. To be successful in a democratic system, we need educated citizens that can reason logically with minimum sentiments. A good move would be a form of free education backed with programs to encourage youths to get educated. * Implementing true federalism : Simply put, the current federal system isn't sustainable. My 2 cents.. 3 Likes |

I hate Buhari because he is a core tribalist as exemplified below; The Abacha regime created a parallel government through the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) headed by Major General Muhammed Buhari. Nothing else typifies the marginalisation of the Yoruba than the lopsidedness of the projects carried out by the PTF. Figures from PTF Situation Reports (Vol. 2 Dec. 98) show that the PTF carried on as if there was no South West. Of all the roads rehabilitated by he PTF, only 1984.5 kilometres of roads representing 10.84 per cent were carried out in the South West; from where the bulk of the PTF revenue came since the zone consumes over 60 per cent of refined petroleum products. All the Southern States had 4,440.43 kms or 24 per cent of road rehabilitation as against 13,870.47 kms or 76 per cent in the Northern States zone three comprising the North-West States of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara had a lion share of 5020 kms or 27.42 per cent because the Fund’s Chairman, Buhari and the military dictator Sani Abacha were from there; zone four comprising the North-East States of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe picked 23.48 per cent. This is the zone where Salihijo Ahmed, the late Chief Executive of Afri-Project Consortium APC, the sole consultants that supervised all PTF projects came from. Figures in other sectors were more scandalous. For instance, under the National Health and Educational Rehabilitation Programme (NHERP), the South West had zero allocation in the tertiary programme, while the North picked 100 per cent. In the vocational programme, the South West had zero while the North had 97 per cent. In the primary area, the South-West had zero against 88 per cent for the North and in the secondary area, it was zero for the South-West and 86 per cent for the North. The health sector is similar. For the Teaching Hospitals, the South-West had zero while the North had 62 per cent. For the Specialist Hospitals, it was zero for the South-West and 71 per cent for the North; in General/State Hospitals the Yoruba had nothing while the North had 56 per cent for health clinics, it was zero for the South-West against the North’s 100 per cent. Under the food supply summary, the Southwest had 7.26 per cent compared with 83 per cent for the North, Buhari’s zone having 60.54 per cent to itself. http://www.nigerianmuse.com/20061228122222zg/nigeria-watch/all-about-the-oputa-panel-hrvic/nigeria-has-persecuted-the-yoruba-submission-of-afenifere-to-the-human-rights-violations/ 4 Likes |

I find it hard to believe someone so close to, involved with, and employed by the Abacha family isn't corrupt. If he is geniune in his 'incorruptibility', he shouldn't be so eager to take power at all changes from the hands of the corrupt (Abacha Petroleum Trust Fund, President after IBB and other corrupt generals called on him to take over after the coup). |

the only people scared of buhari are those neck deep in corruption, and they will stop at nothing to make the status quo of thievery to continue. and this peeps has successfully brainwashed some low lifers to see the man as an ethnocentric and religious bigoted individual. since the corruption and misgovernance story won't fly with a personality like buhari. obasanjo and ibb tried so hard to nail the man with corruption all leads to futility. ptdf lopsided? ? nothing we no go see finish for nairaland, get your lazy behind to uch Ibadan you will still see ptdf inscribed on beds, mattresses and hospital furnitures. I still gat old textbooks with the ptdf inscription which i got for free here in the south west. welcome to Nigeria where people think with there anus when it comes to the matter of politics. 5 Likes |

Well, its your opinion and your definitely entitled to it. For folks who reason logically, before you label Buhari as BH, you'd at least have proof. Its notable that Ruben Abati was sued for inferring this. http://www.informationng.com/2013/01/libel-suit-presidency-buhari-reach-out-of-court-settlement-on-abati-article.html In reality, if elections are free and fair, the electorates would decide if Buhari will be president. I ain't apologetic, but lets set things straight. Are you insinuating that the current practice of kidnapping for financial extortion is Buhari's fault? An attempt was made to kidnap Dikko - Yes For what reason? - To face corruption or treason charges? If so, I find it applaudable that the government would go through such length to ensure nobody escapes justice. Remember this wasn't democracy. In my opinion, ensuring justice is served is a plus for Buhari's military government. Its a sign of resolve. I detest Marginalization true. However, the numbers do not justify labeling Buhari a core tribalist. If you hate him for this alone then its understandable. You'd probably hate the current president too. This is how I see it, going by the report if true: Did Buhari utilize the PTF funds for its purpose? - yes Did all regional zones gain from the PTF project? - yes Did all regional zones gain equally? - No I don't see how this makes him a tribalist. It does show that he did favor the north though. Sunny_bobo: I hate Buhari because he is a core tribalist as exemplified below; |

jafre: Well, its your opinion and your definitely entitled to it. This Abati fabrication is what they have repeated so many times on nairaland that have been registered as the truth. The only reason they hate Buhari so much is because he is a Muslim and a Northerner. Every other reason is farication which cannot be substantiated. 2 Likes |

It is the people from your tribe that should not be allowed near Aso rock because of your crude hatred for other human beings who by all standards are better than you. Bigotry runs in the blood of ibos and therefore we will never allow anybody from that hatred filled hellhole call SE to lead this country. Write this today. The same Buhari arranged the arrest and crating of Umaru Dikko out of London. Is Umaru Dikko from SE? You want Buhari to indiscriminately punish everybody regardless of whether they are guilty or not? When your evil fathers and uncles embarked on the first coup in the history of Nigeria, how many easterners were killed?. I wonder how gej gonna win 2015 without the vote of the northerns and Westerns, and prominent kingmakers he is picking needless fight with. |
Re: Why Are You An Ardent Buhari Supporter? by Sunnybobo3(m): 10:35am On May 19, 2013 |
eggheaders: Does that change the fact that he is a serial election loser? He has lost all elections he has contested all his life and that is not going to change at 72. Going by your logic, we can safely conclude that most Nigerians think from their anus since they keep voting against him. LMAO! He should go to the Zoo where dogs and baboons vote to contest elections cos that's the only place he can win. |

eggheaders: We all saw how the state that accommodated the subsidy protest suddenly increase school fees by more than 1000% and put a toll gate on an uncompleted road and use police to chase away the protesters of the toll gate. Tam David West is a big liar for telling us on the last paragraph that Buhari does not have a house in Abuja and sleeps in a hotel whenever he visits Abuja. It is common these days for every of Buhari's agent to lie to Nigerians all in a bid to make their master look good. Buhari has the finest mansion in Maitama District of Abuja. Infact, Buhari and Igbinidion Snr have the best private houses in Maitama. All Keke Napep and taxi drivers operating in that district know about his mansion. He could not have built that with his salary eventhough he remained Head of state till now. That mansion is obviously a product of corruption afterall, how much was his salary? Tam David West should stop lying! It is very shameful the extend Buhari's foot soldiers lie and paint their master in colours that even he would be shocked. Nairalanders living around Maitama will bear me witness if what I wrote here is not true. |
