As far as Rivers politics go,Amaechi has seen it all;or nearly so.
He rose through the ranks as Peter Odili's protege, first s an aide
In 1991 when Odili was deputy Governor,to his 1999 election into
The state house of assembly where he emerged the house speaker with
Odili as Governor. He was the obvious choice for the state's Governor-
Ship in 2007,until the intrigues that resulted in his name being
Substituted with that of Celestine Omehia.Omehia his cousin was even
Tually sworn in in 2007.

Amaechi would not have any of that.He broke ranks with Odili,he defied
All the odds and went through all the legal hurdles to reclaim his man-
Date.Rotimi was courageous. But that appeared to be where it all stopped.

Since becoming Governor, many attest to the good things he is doing in
Rivers state. But many people find his politics wrong. For a man who
Appeared on the scene with so much goodwill,he squandered so much in so
Short a time.
The discord between Amaechi and Jonathan dates back to the inception of
The Amnesty program for Niger Delta militants during the late
President Yar'Adua presidency.Amaechi had strongly criticised the handling
Of the program which was being coordinated by Jonathan, then vice-
President. The animosity continued into the struggle by Jonathan to
Emerge as acting President during the controversy generated by Yar'Adua's
Incapacitation.Of all the South-South governors,Amaechi and Sylva,former
governor of Bayelsa state were evidently lukewarm on the issue. He took on the President over the disputed oil wells that eventually
Went to Bayelsa, stopping short of calling of calling the act a presidential
Robbery. He openly disagreed with First lady Dame Patience on the Okrika
Waterfront demolotion and went on to carry out his threat in a manner that
Diminished her before her Okrika kinsmen. He followed it up with an alter-
Cation with the Minister of the Niger Delta,Godsday Orubebe over the East-
West road project, with occasional swipes on the President himself. To cap it
All,he had the temerity to play the black sheep in the Niger Delta.dreaming
Of supplanting Jonathan himself, which is what a slot iin the Presidency,
For him means.
As events have turned out,Amaechi does not appear to have developed large
Enough political muscles to play real political hardball.Without
Guts, adversarial politics with higher authorities is a sure route to
Suicide.
When the PDP reconciliation train berthed in Portharcourt, his role
As Chief host was poor.Walking away from such an important gathering
That included his party's national chairman and leaders of the PDP
Across the South-South region, was like plying schoolboy politics.
A similar scenario had played out when he cancelled other activities
Planned for the first lady after the Okrika debacle.

For so long Amaechi has stuck out his neck, naively I dare say,for
Chopping;now the guillotine is descending without any inhibitions.
Amaechi's boys are being chased about without much of a whimper. As
The Igbo say,a man who has the courage to grow long teeth, should also
Grow long lips enough to cover them.
In Kano the other day,Amaechi told journalists that he would be
Prepared to run the Presidential race with Governor Rabiu kwankwaso.
Amaechi by mistake took Jonathan gentle nature for weakness. Now
With the suspension of Amaechi from PDP it is just a matter of time
Before the hangman noose will grip the neck of Amaechi.
Lesson:never poke your hand into the eyes of a sitting President
Nay African President.

Amaechi will be history in a couple of months and no one will miss him.

His traitorous hallmark is beginning to affect the governing of the great state of Rivers.

Good riddance I say.

Really, are these Amaechi's sins? So this is why he is being attacked at every angle by GEJ. That he won PDP primaries, was deprived but fought legally to retrieve his mandate? That he had a difference of opinion in the handling of the amnesty programme? That he wanted to demolish a building to build world class schools and health centres in the first lady's village just like he has done in other communities or that the first lady grabbed the microphone from a governor to reprimand him in his state? Amaechi has never openly declared his ambition of contesting with Sule. That Amaechi does not agree totally with GEJ? Come on, you really mean these are Amaechi's sins? No wonder? ND will always be backward, because you don't like anything good and you love bondage. Continue clapping for GEJ why he destabilises the peace and development in Rivers state. Even if GEJ returns in 2015, he will definitely leave in 2019. After then, we will take stock of the dividends of 'our brother' in Aso rock. For now, these so called Amaechi's sins are no sins and are not impeachable offences by our constitution, and do not warrant the treatment he is receiving. Let him be let alone to complete his tenure in peace

And I forgot to add, the east-west road has still not been completed. It is your right as niger deltans that the FG finishes that road as soon as possible. Somebody spoke up for you and you call it a sin. NIGER DELTA=MEDIOCRITY
