The Kwara State government today announced the closure of Kwara Polutechnic following students’ protest over alleged shooting of their colleague by the police.

Ahmed Dayo, a National Diploma (ND) student in the Department of Accounting, was shot by a police escort attached to a bullion van owned by a first generation bank. The victim was alighting from the taxi cab when the policeman aimed at the tyre of the cab.
