It's no news that baba's daughter is on the run after being sought after by the EFCC, but i want 2 ask how far can she run? Facts are beginning to emerge that she may be guilty and her decision to "run" mite not be the wrong idea u know, First the senate president comes out to say she's not in his custody, second her colleagues say they cannot conceal her whereabouts. It's really a challenge for this government to put in all they have ie through the EFCC to find her afterall it has not been confirmed that she is guilty, EFCC is just trying to do their work aren't they? cool cool

I agree with you! Everyday for the thief one day for the owner; we are the owners and this is our day.

"Daddy" has long become a man of yesterday. He himself is looking for cover and can be less bothered about a thieving daughter!!

This is an appeal to our dear 'Princess' to preserve her honour and that of Obasanjo's household as the first daughter of our ex-president who was popularly elected twice, who signed series of Nigerian laws including the law that established the EFCC, to curb the endemic corruption which is fast destroying us as a people of quality before the eyes of the world. As a Senator, you, our dear 'Princess' Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello,owe it to yourself to preserve the integrity and dignity of your office if you fully understand what is at stake for any one in that representative capacity to dis-respect the law. Good luck our dear 'Princess' and please behave.

I expect she will not run away or abscond.

this is the same woman that forcefully took her child from her ex-hubby's custody, was involved in the siemens scandal, involved in awarding sham contracts, and many more, and now running from the law. she basically has no respect for the rule of law and it's implications. she should be disposed off as a senator, simply because she ain't doing her day job representing her district. iyabo-gate i hope she knows is not helping the old man's 'legacies', if he ever had any, lol

Iyabo Obasanjo's disappearance cripples Senate committee on health
Taiwo Adisa, Abuja
Monday, May 5, 2008
ACTIVITIES of the Senate Committee on Health have come to a standstill following the disappearance of the Chairman, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, since April 15.

The senator is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over her role in the N300 million scandal that rocked the Ministry of Health, leading to the resignation of the minister, Professor Adenike Grange and the Minister of State, Mr. Gabriel Adukwu.

Senator Obasanjo-Bello, who was last week charged by the EFCC and admitted as one of the accused in the case preferred by the anti-graft agency against the suspects in the N300 million scandal, has not presided over the meeting of the committee since her disappearance.

The committee, which usually meets once every week, has been in limbo, as the vice chairman cannot convene the meeting. “The vice chairmen of Senate Committees cannot run the affairs of the committees when the chairman is not available, they are not in the know about the finances of the committee. Nearly all our chairmen run as chief executives,” a Senate source told the Nigerian Tribune.

It was gathered that both local and international correspondences are being piled up to await the return of Senator Obasanjo-Bello since her disappearance three weeks ago.

“The meeting of the committee has stopped and nothing is moving, but I can tell you, we have so much to do,” another source said. The search effort of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Kanti Bello, for the senator has failed to yield results as the senator was said to have given up the search.

The Senate Chief Whip was mandated two weeks ago to search for and confirm the safety of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello after her house was raided by EFCC operatives in an attempt to arrest her.

Senator Kanti Bello was to later tell the Nigerian Tribune that he had failed to locate the senator and that he had no clue as regards her whereabouts.

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, also said last Thursday that the Senate was not in touch with Iyabo Obasanjo since she disappeared from the Senate.

A source in the committee, however, told the Nigerian Tribune that the Senate President, Senator David Mark, would be notified of the state of the committee following Iyabo’s disappearance.

“There are a number of issues pending before the committee and we cannot continue to wait for the chairman before we can move ahead. We don’t even know her plans as she is not in touch with any member of the committee, that is why we have to call the Senate President’s attention to this,” a source in the Senate said.
