This is not rumour,its true,intimate friend of mine was posted there to write his professional exam in year 2010,he told me he couldnt go out to have nice time troughout the stayed,coz he was told by one of the indigen who accommodated them that they will chop him if he go beyong his boundary ,coz he's a visitor

Cross River is the most peaceful state if you ask me, at least I have first hand experience. Cultists go on rampage once in a while, but that mostly happens sround the Calabar suburbs. The main city centre and its beautiful residential areas are the next best thing to Utopia.

Abuja (though not a 'state') is also relatively sane and peaceful if you can afford to live in any of the nice estates or residential zones in the city centre. Violent crimes and robberies are not a common phenomenon, and the noise and insanity that is typical of Lagos is completely absent in both Calabar and Abuja.
