Nigeria: Hezbollah armoury discovered in Kano city
30 May 2013 Last updated at 18:01

The military said the weapons carefully stored in sawdust
An armoury belonging to the Lebanese group Hezbollah has been discovered in northern Nigeria, the West African nation's army and spy agency has said.
Three Lebanese nationals have been arrested, an army spokesman, Brig Gen Ilyasu Isa Abba, said.
The cache, including rifles, anti-tank weapons and an RPG, were found in a warehouse in the city of Kano, he said.
Nigeria's State Security Service said they were intended for use against "Israeli and Western interests".
"This is the handwork of Hezbollah," Bassey Ettang, director of the State Security Service in Kano said.
You can also be sure that if agroup like this is existing then it may even lend support to some of the local terrorists we have on the ground
Bassey Ettang, State Security Service
"What has just been discovered is a cell of Hezbollah and what you have seen here is a Hezbollah armoury," he told journalists in Kano on Thursday.
Brig Gen Ilyasu Isa Abba said 11 anti-tank weapons, four anti-tank mines, a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and 21 RPG missiles, 17 AK-47s, two sub-machine guns and 76 grenades had been amongst theweapons found.
The Lebanese owner of the warehouse where "the weaponsof mass destruction" had been stored in sawdust was out of the country, he said
There is a large business Lebanese community in Kano city, the commercial hub of in northern Nigeria.
Kano and north-eastern Nigeria has suffered multiple attacks in the last three years since the home-grown Islamist militant group Boko Haram launched an insurgency.
Mr Ettang added: "You can also be sure that if a group like this isexisting then it may even lend support to some of the local terrorists we have on the ground."
Hezbollah is a Shia military and political movement based in Lebanon considered by the US tobe a terrorist organisation.
Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is forbidden", says its quest is to overthrow the Nigerian government and create an Islamic state. There has been growing concern that Boko Haram could be receiving backing from al-Qaeda-linked militants in other countries.

may God Almighty deliver Nigeria from the clutches of Israel and the US during this Jonathan (niger delta) administration.

last it was Iranian made weapons bought by gambia that Israel plotted to get ceased in Lagos, and the Iranians were arrested.

now Lebanese businessmen who are Shia Muslims and have nothing to do with salafist (shia hating) boko haram (a Wahhabi alqaeda affiliate) are now arrested and framed for "ties" with boko haram.as for "ties" with Hezbollah, what does "ties" mean? Hezbollah isn't depending on the money of businessmen to organize itself.hezbollah gets Iranian funds in hundreds of millions of dollars, and Syrian government support.

moreover, this would be a case of hypocrisy to the maximum.just last month when the Lebanese president,Michel Suleiman, visited Nigeria, the Lebanese agriculture minister Hussein Haj Hassan (a member of Hezbollah),accompanied him.he was one of the accompany members of the president's entourage.why didn't Nigeria arrest him? since when is Hezbollah a "terrorist organization" in the eyes of Nigeria? even the European union has so far refrained from designating Hezbollah as a "terrorist organization",and European officials often hold meetings with Hezbollah officials.german intelligence officials conduct prisoner exchanges between Hezbollah and Israel.hezbollah has MPs in the Lebanese parliament and ministers in the government, and represents the Shia Muslim community, which is the largest single religious community in Lebanon making over 40% of the total population.

as usual in Israel designed plots, the stories are either not consistent or contradictory.there is an attempt to link Shia Lebanese to Salafist/Wahhabi Boko haram.(note the west is supporting Wahhabi/salafist terrorists in Syria).and there is an attempt to link them for "ties" with Hezbollah "plotting" against Israeli and western targets.which claim are we going to believe? and the most sad, annoying and ignorant part is when Nigerian officials dramatize when the word "Hezbollah" is mentioned, without regarding the above stated facts.

Israel and the US should stop taking Nigeria as a field to execute their plots against their own enemies because our president is not a hausa man;a hausa man as president is known for being tough against western dictates .in Nigeria we live peacefully and embrace all foreigners and treat all strangers kindly.

There is a global plot by islamic radicals to take control of governments. Nigeria, being a strategic and influential country in west africa and africa as a whole,if captured, would be a great step in achieving this agenda. God help us.

can't deduce if you're making sense yet. But you should know that even enemies do have common goals sometimes. In the syria crisis, alqueda is supporting the rebels, while hezbollah rallies around assad;but that does not mean both groups are not working towards targeting anything and anyone that has ties with isreal and the west.

Similarly, that doesn't mean Israel and its allies are not working towards undermining anyone with ties to the Syrian or Iranian regimes. Is it a coincidence that Just last week, the EU and US began to debate whether to add Hezbollah to their so-called list of terrorist organization because of its recent support for president Assad?

No country has a better history of manipulating public opinion in its favor than Israel. On many occasions Israel's Mossad has attacked even American interest around the globe, so as to blamed it on the "terrorist Arabs". The case of USS Liberty is one example out of many. ...so my brother, if something walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, itis most probably a duck. That brother analysis makes lot of sense.

Why are the Arabs trying to pay for their war with the West in AFRICAN blood?

No right thinking African should stand for this! The Middle East MUST GO!

To the US,hezbollah has always been a terrorists organization just like the taliban and hamas;but that is by the way. And,yes we all know how manipulative secret intel agencies like the CIA and mossad are. But are you denying the fact that the armoury uncovered in kano belongs to hezbollah? Perharps, isreali mossad were the one that planted it just to further "manipulate public opinion" on hezbollah? Even though there are arguments that boko haram 'll rather be tied with alqueda, and not hezbollah, these two organizations had in the past carried out cowardly attacks on the west and isreali prone targets in other countries. And what better targets than african countries, where the chances of their operations being successful is high.
