Segun-Oni is simply not ashamed of himself and his psychophants. I was stil schooling in Ekiti durin the Election tussle. Has he forgotten d extra 14thousand votes dat his party imported into d ballot box in his hometown Ifaki, a town where d total registered voters werent even up to that. He called it 'Home-advantage'. Now he shld just go fully focus on his so-called engineering profession. Its only a pity he'z my name-sake.

Segun Oni has displayed his scene of shame. He knew he never won the 2007 governorship election after he was imposed on the Pdp as its flagbearer despite the fact that he came third @ the primaries. One thing that is wellknown with Ekitis is that we are strong headed, full of pride & proofs to be over-educated. This aforementioned characters has done more harm than good to Ekiti state. All indigenes of this state are happy that the case was struck out by the highest court of order. JKF is the man of the people, stable & intelligent. There's jubilation all over the streets of Ado Ekiti right now. JKF ride on!

baby_123: Finally, Oni can rest. grin. What was he going to do? Find 20million different fingerprints voting for him? Or did he expect PDP to do that. PDP is busy looting, no time for complicated rigging once election has passed.
U amuse me

Never ever will we PDP accept the verdict of the supreme court. The judges have been bought by Tinubu and his party. In fact, we have evidence that there was a teleconversation on Tmobile line between them. Engineerer Segun Ana must go to the ICC at The Hague for reclamation of his bondage.

Callme_JKLUE: The Supreme Court has struck out an appeal by former Ekiti State governor, Segun Oni against the election of Governor Kayode Fayemi.

In a unanimous decision by a 7-man panel delivered in Abuja on Friday, the court said it lacks jurisdiction.
Justice Sylvester Ngwuta read the lead judgement to which others agreed.

This will make more sense to you.

It was jubilation in Ekiti State as the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed petitions filed by ousted Governor of the State, Mr Segun Oni against the ruling of the Court of Appeal, sitting in Ado-Ekiti that re-affirmed the election of Dr. Kayode Fayemi as earlier delivered by an Ilorin Appeal Court on October 15, 2010.

The Supreme Court had in its 7-man unanimous ruling struck out Mr Oni’s suit; laying to rest the nation’s longest election petition that spanned from 2007 to 2013.

Ado- Ekiti, the State capital was agog as the news of Fayemi’s victory reached his supporters and well-wishers who took to the streets in their thousands to celebrate the long-awaited verdict.

The supporters who held their brooms, the symbol of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), sang various songs of solidarity and victory; chanting different slogans including the popular “4+4= 8″ and “JKF- Just Keep Faith”, “Eyiyato” among others.

There was traffic congestion on both lanes from Fajuyi to Old Garage, with different groups and bands singing and dancing, while commuters took alternative routes through Oke Ori Omi- Aremu- Irona road and Ile Abiye- GRA- Fajuyi road to get to their destinations.

Addressing the party’s supporters in Ado Ekiti, the Deputy Governor, Professor Modupe Adelabu, Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the SSG, Alhaji Ganiyu Owolabi and the Chief of Staff, Mr yemi Adaramodu thanked the people for supporting the party and Governor Fayemi throughout the judicial tussle.

They assured that the Fayemi-led administration would not relent in pursuing people-oriented programmes and projects as spelt out in the 8-point agenda of the administration

OK numbnuts, this is how it works;

The Supreme court is the highest court in the land but that doesn't make it the first call for arbitration.

The normal procedure was to head to the election Tribunal (A tribunal is headed by 3 appointed judges that is where the "Tri" comes in)

If the verdict is not satisfactory to any of the parties a higher court known as the Appeals Court is the next step.

If the verdict set aside by the Appeals Court is still contested the Supreme Court is the last and final venue.

Oni's lawyers wanted to accelerate hearings and eventual verdict by going straight to the Supreme Court by side-stepping any of the lower courts (of which I cannot be specific on the one exactly for sake of not giving a phuck about your feeble attempt at democratic process).

The supreme court ruling merely washed it's hands off the case.

If the supreme court strikes out ur case you'll have to re-file the case when Jesus come to take his people to heaven and send the wicked to Hell fire.

If you need a definition of the word OLODO, just look in a Mirror...

chelseaguy: The Justices were smart to dodge the case- funny that the supreme court of the federal doesn't have jurisdiction cheesy

That's because then the Court of Appeal was the final court in governorship election cases. For Oni it was a waste of time, energy and resources

Oni is a gentleman, way ahead of his peers. You hardly hear him ranting on the pages of Newspaper neither will he bad-mouth opposition. I don't see anything wrong in him seeking redress in a law court and since the court has said it does not have the jurisdiction to try the case he has carried himself in an enviable manner like he always do....will like to see more of our politician submit themselves process like this without playing to the gallery.
NOTA BENI: Avoid joining the bandwagon....look out for the merit and demerit of every case and avoid sentiments.
