The people of Mgbala Agwa community in Oguta council area of Imo state are utterly outraged over alleged plot by the Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia to free two rogue police officers, Anthony Duru (AKA Associate) and Kingsley Amuga (AKA Ododo) who are notorious leaders of a criminal gang operating in Imo state.

The community’s suspicion turned into alarm when on 23rd of May,2013, the two criminal kingpins and three of their members who were scheduled to be arraigned in court in Imo state were surprising taken to Umuahia on the guise that the case has , under a superior directive, been transferred to Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia.

Leaders of the community are presently disturbed that if the five criminals are freed like in a previous experience, the lives of the community leaders who had reported the matter would be at risk.

Through a petition dated 16 April, 2013, the Mgbal Agwa community reported that, “ On Friday, 12th April,2013, a group of notorious armed bandits who reside in Mgbala community from where they take-off for their criminal activities, sacked the entire community for three days, shooting arms of different types, wounding and maiming people, looting property, motorcycles and household items.
