Hi! I’m in dire need of a mechanic for my Nissan Xtrail 2012 model. Baba loses power abruptly after being driven after a couple of kilometers; well, it doesn’t lose complete power, it acceleration reduces to almost snail speed such that Na pep sef go dey overtake am cry despite pushing the accelerator pedal to the max.
You’ve probably told us what the car is doing to you (effect), and not what you’ve done to the car (cause). Is the check engine light on? Have you run a scan? Do you have a CVT or a conventional auto transmission?
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Kreamie(m): 7:28am On Jul 12, 2019
Nothing done to the car. I hardly ever use the car. The car just loses power in motion. This minute it’s moving just well, the next minute it’s moving at snail speed. No check engine light, a scan was ran but nothing came up. I took the car to automedics and they said it was the fuel filter. That was fixed yet the same issue. It’s a conventional transmission.

Ever changed the air filter?

Lol, you dunno what's going on. My G35 uses the same engine, and I get a whopping 12mpg. You'd be lucky to get 10mpg on that car.

That said, you sound like you can afford it either way. Great car, great engine, go ahead. Parts availability may be iffy, though. Same goes for price.

If you love powerful cars, why not the FX50? That's the one to get. 300+ HP is great on a sedan but not that outstanding on an SUV. Raise that to 400 HP, though, and you have a beast in your hands.

If I ever decide to switch to SUVs, the FX50 will definitely be my choice. Vroom, Vroom.

Lol, yeah I know... you can’t compare a Toyota V6 to an Infiniti V6. Toyota is mild. Lol.

I thought of the 50S... but it’s gonna be quite expensive to buy. The 35 is cheaper. So I’d love to get that first, then upgrade to a 50S.

Thanks so much for your input.

Good Afternoon,

My wife just got a 2008 Nissan Sentra and it's a pretty cool car.

The only issue I have noticed with the car is this sound (like a bike) coming from the engine when accelerating.

What could be wrong.

Thanks

Could that be the CVT?

The Internet is littered with this issue, but no clearcut answers........

So must be caused by some sort manufacturer error or parts failing...........

Google this Nissan TSB: NTB13-095. If you think the symptoms apply to your case you need an external transmission oil cooler. Contact Nissparts.

Yes it can the QD15GE or QD18DE 1.5L/1.8L respectively are good. Body doesn't fall apart ensure to use synthetic Engine oil to avoid timing chain stretch.

Am just reading online comments, honestly I don’t really know much about NISSIAN cars I’ve been using Toyota. I just fall in love with Sentra 2005 model cos of the body and it shared same engine capacity with Corolla and Honda Civic .

Yes that Sentra has CVT but it doesn't have issues haba, Google Toyota Corolla, Camry Honda Benz transmission issues if you won't see tons of online comment about them.

If it's the 05 you like you are safe, it's fuel efficient and strong.
