The National Chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), Bamanga Tukur on Tuesday said he will not resign on Thursday as published by a local newspaper.

Addressing journalist after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the presidential villa in Abuja, Mr Tukur said elections would be held for the positions, not contested for, during the last national executive council meeting.
He dismissed as untrue and complete falsehood stories that President Jonathan has directed the leadership of the party to resign or be prepared to be booted out by Thursday.
A Nigerian newspaper had on Monday reported that Mr Tukur will be succeeded by former Bauchi State governor Ahmed Adamu Mu'azu.

pls why should PDP nat. chairman Dr.Bamanga Tukur resigned is position, was he not elected as the criminals in The notorious NGF? who now uses the NGF to put pressure on the president to share our common wealth. the Governors are so lazy, they can't think of generating revenue 4 their state . The NGF have pratically killed the 3rd tiers of Government about 20 states operates with care- taker committee instead of elected L.G. Chairmen..... now the so called thieves ( barawo, ole, furubo.) are using the NGF to vehemently fight against the financial Autonomy of the L.G council as proposed by both houses of the Nat. Assembly pls this NGF thieves should know that our constitution recognises 3 tiers of Gov. and not 2 tiers of Gov. SATAN will punish those criminals in NGF very SOON..... GOD bless Nigeria....

An older man dat is over 70yrs old fighting 4 positions with young people..Bamanga Tukur can never resign because he is d strong force controlling PDP and wanting dem to support Jonathan 4 2015 elections.

Gej should not contemplate on forcing bamanga to resign so as to appease recalcitrant gov like wamako, aliyu, kwankwoso etc. He should realise that as long as he has a second term ambition, these gov will continue to fight him. Mr bamanga should not be the sacrificial lamb. He should make best use of the 16 gov in his kitty and focus more in his transformation agenda. Recalling wamako from suspension will never make him remorseful rather it will boost the ego in him.
