i suppose you started reading the story recently.
when i started i had so many typos, erorrs and what have you, i really know that. I was using my phone and was a bit unconscious of it. But you endured all that, so i also give it to you as well.

Whereby she would wield some of d priest's ability? Or are d forces against d Volturis? How couldnt they decode dat d Priest was in support of them? The room rose up in uproar.
Salami in confusion sat on his seat beside the altar table. The priest remained standing.
I still lay trying to understand the drama, but somehow I began to perceive the aroma of pre-plot between Sandra and the priest.

I could not wait to be unchained. Things were happening so fast like magic. I could not tell how far this play or magic would take us. However, in the midst of my panic, I could still sense a thin spring of joy.

For some minutes, nothing happened. The room remained loud with murmurings. Sandra strangely remained silent.

My eyes met with some volturis who starred at me suspiciously; I did not take my eyes away rather I waited for them to do so. That way, I continued the process with some other volturis for some time.

Suddenly, the priest broke the silence-

‘I know everybody is surprised at the turn of events; but what can we do. We are volturis and we are the greatest, there is no power that can stop us. However when a ballistic spirit seats on a round table to negotiate with the priest in the presence of other volturis, then it means that the spirit has come on a peaceful mission.’

‘Since these two demons stepped into this secret empire, it had been mischief and tragedy all through the night. Grasshopper is dead, Solomon is, capon is as well, scorpion is on the ground bleeding, and he may bleed to death because nobody will save him. He will die!’

‘Ahh!’ everybody interjected together in shock.

Salami sat at the edge of his seat-
‘Making four top volturis? What kind of tragedy has befallen us, oh Lucifer, where art thou, this is your empire!’
‘I have many questions for you O great Lucifer, but I shall wait until we see you face to face at the end of the year conference, priest shall be my witness. But this is unfair, this is preposterous, this is unjust. Ah, how can you shame us after all we have done for you, how could you, Lucifer!’

There were murmurings after Salami finished.
I saw from the corner of my eyes a volturis of about 30 years; he brought out a white handkerchief and wiped his face with emphasis on his eyes.
Then he spoke.
‘What is happening to volturis? I banked all my treasures here, all my wealth, everything. My hope, they all come from volturis. Volturis is crashing down, we all need to get rid of this demon, priest save us, priest save us, give them what they want before we all die!’

‘We cannot cry like children because demons torment us, Lucifer our lord where are you?’ (a young man of about 25).

‘This is a shame on the gods, not us!’

‘Who care about the gods? Someone please help me, I am dying, this knife has chemicals, it is eating me up, I can’t move my legs, we are brothers puh-lease’ scorpion wailed in pains; his voice diminishing by every after word.

Everybody shut him a pathetic look. I could read the sincere words of their eyes
‘We are sorry we wish we can help you, but our hands are tied’

‘Priest, we cannot watch a fellow volturis die, he has given all to volturis’ the man that had sat beside him, pleaded.

‘I dreamt about this last night, I saw two pigeons spilling out fire on our empire like dragons up until the entire empire burnt to rumbles. Now I understand the dream…’ another volturis said.

‘You dreamt, oh this is evil!’

The priest calmed everyone with a wave of his hand.
‘I know that this may sound shocking to everyone. Never mind, it is initial; you will all get to understand by the way…’

‘I do not understand. How did Capon die?!’ an angry voice yelled.
He could not contain his quandary anymore. In fact, he jumped up in fury, keeping a sharp jaw towards the priest as if wanting to tear him apart.

‘Did you just awake from sleep?’ a voice rebuked him

‘Seat down and do not sound irrational, we shall get to the bottom of this’
His right hand neighbor calmed him down, drawing him back to his seat.

‘Oh these pathetic two demons, their parents must have cooked them; I see it so clearly now. They have betrayed Volturis; they have behaved cowardly. Now that it is their time to offer their children for all, they have bluntly refused by injecting them with foul spirits, we shall knock these spirit out and let them pay for their foolishness!’

‘Yes, that is true they have betrayed us, they are cowards. I never discerned that this was their plot. They love their children, rubbish and total nonsense!’

‘They have not read in the books that children are the heritage of the lord. They are fools!’

‘Oh I never thought that way, cursed children! Where are they by the way?’

‘They are not aware of the meeting, it is an emergency’

The priest waved his hand again to calm down the crisis.
‘This is not their plot.’ He began
‘These children wield spiritual energy from birth. We cannot accuse their parents for this they may not even be aware. These children went to boarding schools, we do not know what they ate there, we do not know how they wield their spiritual powers, but we know how to appease these angry spirits ruling these two beings to safe our empire from collapsing.’

He continued
‘The further they stay here, the greater the number of deaths we shall record. It can be anybody and it will continue if nothing is done. These spirits will kill if we refuse their demands and you all we be the first to die. So you better listen to me in other to save your lives.’
After a short pause-
You do not know other secrets. But we are brothers; I shall explain everything to you’

The whole room became silent. Everyone listened with rapt attention as the priest continued.

‘These children have been sent by some spirits. I know quite all right that we had chosen them. Their parents had offered them according to the constitution of volturis for our annual festival. However, as grasshoppers are to wanton boys so are we to the gods they use us for their sports.
We thought we had brought them in , and indeed you may say that we succeeded in bringing them in, but it was only the manipulation of some spirits.’

Murmurs rose up again, but died as soon as the priest continued.

‘I know that this is a strange occurrence, it is strange because it has never happened in the history of the volturis empire.’

‘On a frank note, pastor Salami’s children should be those who should wield spiritual energy or be possessed by a demons. But we had nothing like that during his time. Capon brought in his daughter, and so did other volturis. Those that could offer their children were killed and used for the same sacrifice.’

‘It had been our tradition, it had been our bond. It had been our source of our power and affluence. It had been a way of keeping the ballistic spirits of the cannibalized away from us by sending new spirits every year to help those who we had sent previously, who all work to chain the violent spirits on our behalf. But an occurrence as this had never happened and since it is happening now, then it means that the spirit of this children are so strong that they cannot be subjected to go on errands. These spirits are powerful.
In fact, all I have been saying is by the mouth of these spirits that surround them. They are speaking to me right now. I can hear them through my spiritual ears.’

‘I must tell you that the spirits in these children and around them are bent on having their way. In fact, when Solomon’s identical twin had confronted them in their room, they turned his mouth into the mouth of a vulture. In fact, I have been saying all kinds of incantation on him, but nothing has changed so far. He is in my chambers right now, only the spirits can heal him if they care’

Murmurs rose again.

The priest however continued-
‘These two children wield high resistance. Despite the fact that they are ignoramus volturis, it still did not alter anything. Rather it made them stronger than any voturis’

‘Nevertheless, in all their power and might, they have not dealt unfairly with us. I need to explain this very well, because this is the reason why scorpion will die’

Scorpion was already flat on the ground making cracking sounds. I perceived that he could no longer talk. He did not remove the knife although he said it was filled with chemicals.

‘The death of grasshopper as we all know or heard, was due to his rebellion and threat to kill our royal head, and outer cover, Pastor Salami.’

They nodded in pity.
‘Oh grasshopper, my bosom friend’ a voice spoke in pity.

‘However, the death of capon and Solomon was duly the work of Scorpion’
The priest continued.

‘Scorpion?’ they all asked puzzled, turning to scorpion.

‘I have my proof, here is a video’
He brought out his phone.

There was a projector screen behind the priest.
He turned and pointed his phone to the screen; his phone had a projector in it. It was quite amazing as his pointed phone projected the video.

The video was such a shocker; I could not say a word.
In the video I saw scorpion entering the mortuary, but because there are no cameras in the mortuary we only saw the door close, afterwards, he came out with his hands drenched in blood.
I did not know if the video was edited, or he actually went in there later on.
Everything was as magic before my eyes.

As other volturis saw it, they shouted in shock
‘You betrayer, you betrayer, how dare you murder two volturis in one night?!’

‘That is not all. He also tried to frame these two children not knowing that they are terrible people. Well I did not stab him, the spirits did out of accumulated anger’

‘O, he had always hated capon for no reason, they always had personality clashes’
A volturis began.

‘O how could you do this scorpion’ A friendly voice spoke in-between sobs

‘Oh this is possible with scorpion, but I never dreamt that a volturis would go this far’

‘Oh my god this is terrible, I knew it,I knew it! It is only a volturis that can kill a volturis. The worse that these people will do is to turn our mouth into beaks and then we shall whistle like chickens’

‘How about Scorpion that is half way dead, who stabbed him?’
A voice interjected

‘Then this is terrible!’

‘I dreamt about it, I saw a slim average height man harvesting two maize in a farm. I never traced it to a muscular man as scorpion. It is such a pity’ the voice said.
The same voice had shared the previous dream

‘He would not receive pardon, he shall die and we all shall sacrifice him for our annual festival and eat him for redemption’ the priest proposed with authority.

‘But the law of volturis says that it is a sin for a volturis to eat a volturis’ scorpions neighbor interjected.

‘But the law also said that anybody that breaks the volturis law, of which murder is one, seize to be a volturis. The very time he committed the murder, he seized to be a volturis. Therefore he is just an ordinary man’

Some nodded, while some others murmured.

‘But priest you did not tell me all these details before’ Salami asked in confusion

‘I wanted to tell the whole house together I never wanted to destabilize you this morning’

‘No I cannot wait for Lucifer’s meeting again. I will inquire before a native doctor about all these frenzy’ Salami said as he stood on his feet

‘But a native doctor practices black witch craft. The priest on the other hand practices white witchcraft along side Lucifer. He is stronger than any native doctor, if we should be realistic’ a voice proposed

‘The moment you step your feet out of this empire, you are a dead man. A trailer shall crush you and that would be the end of your existence’ Sandra threatened.
It was amazing how her sweet voice matched with a serial killer

‘What is your problem, do you think you can threaten me? Who do you think you are?’
Salami spoke angrily. I perceived traces of fear in his voice.

‘You better be calm’ Sandra advised.

‘How dare you talk to me like that, kill me for that is all you can do. Whether your spirits are everywhere carrying axes, I still do not care. But the last thing I will ever watch happen to me is to die as a coward!’

‘Maybe you want to end up like Scorpion’ She said calmly.

Another knife suspended in the air out of the bowl and started moving towards him.
He studied the advancing knife and then took a gaze of Scorpion who was writhing in pain on the floor.

I was quite sure that he did not know when the words flew out of his mouth-
‘I am sorry, I was just angry, I know you do not mean evil, please drop the knife, please, now!’
Before he finished his sentence, the knife fell back into the bowl.

‘Now what do you people want?’ he asked in frustration.

‘Loose our chains, now!’

The priest did not have to order them to loose the chains, when other volturis started asking with panic.
‘Where is the key, where is the key?’

In no time the chains were loosed, and I came down from the table to meet Sandra.
There was no love look on our faces, or that of excitement, I followed the drama it was about looking die-hard.
We stood before the altar, our hands overlapped behind us.
Everybody starred at us as if we were some aliens.

‘You should let us go’ I said, feeling like a man.

There was a moment of silence.

‘You know too much about us already’ Salami said with a sober voice.

‘You also know too much about us’ Sandra replied

‘No stay with us and become our priest, be part of volturis we will take care of you. You will have wealth, connection, power money everything you desire. You cannot leave us. It is impossible’ Salami negotiated.

‘Then this empire will fall!’

‘No it will not fall if you are part of us’

‘But we can not be part of you. Eagles do not live with chickens’ Sandra said.

‘Oh please’ Salami pleaded almost crashing to his kneels.

‘Will you stay with us, we will be great together’ the priest also pleaded.

I almost burst into laughter when I heard his suggestion, it did not sound any real to me.

But suddenly, I saw something different in his suggestion.
‘What if he actually meant what he said? What if all his actions were just to bring us into volturis. What if everything had just been a drama? Probably I am the only strange person in the scene and Sandra is part of them. Was her contract to seduce me with her beauty?
And the room scene, I could not even remember when or how I was carried out. What did Sandra do to me? Were we kept in that room to fall in love? Is this all a plan, what is happening? Was the bus arrangement also a plot? The bus was full, yet I got a back seat,
And it was beside Sandra. What is happening, gosh, what am I thinking?’

Everything started becoming strange before my eyes.


‘I still do not believe that these children have powers, where did they get it from. Have they ever been to India? The answer is no, how could they by the way.
Let the priest leave the room and let them show us their powers again in his absence. That way we will believe them and let them go’
Scorpion’s neighbor proposed.

‘No I think the girl has powers, but the boy, I do not think so. He is just a chicken that should be on our table. Let the priest and the girl go out and let the boy remain. Then he will prove to us that he has powers’

‘Please our female lord, please bare with us’

‘No the girl has no power, let them all go out’

‘Do you doubt the priest’s sincerity?’

‘No this is common sense, she may only be hacking the priest’s power’

‘And so can you hack the priest’s power? Does it take a normal man to do that?’

‘Please help me ask the irrational o’

‘Silence everybody…’ Salami began
‘I am in support. The priest should excuse us for a while; I know that the spirits would be bold and eager to prove to us that they are independent. They can give us a last sign, I do not think we are asking too much. Who is in support?’

‘You have our support!’ they replied in unison.

My heart pounded heavily.
How would we survive this final test?
Maybe Sandra indeed has the power and it is just a plot to cage me.

Just when I think that things are getting better,
Then I discover that I am but sinking deeper!
