Angry mob kills at least 4 Shias in Giza village including leader Eyewitnesses say that Salafist sheikhs in Giza village led a mob attack on Shia families, accusing them of being infidels and spreading debauchery, leaving four dead and scores injured Zeinab El Gundy, Sunday 23 Jun 2013 Angry Mob Beating A Shiite in Zawya Abu Muslam village "Source:Hazem Barakat" An angry mob led by Salafist sheikhs torched and attacked houses of Shias in the small village of Zawyat Abu Muslam in Giza governorate Sunday afternoon, killing four citizens including a prominent shia figure. Not less than 3000 angry locals attacked houses of Shias in the village Sunday afternoon after weeks of incitement by Salafist preachers, according to eyewitnesses. Five houses were set on fire during the attack. Police are evacuating the rest of Shiite homes in the village. "For three weeks the Salafist sheikhs in the village have been attacking the Shias and accusing them of being infidels and spreading debauchery," Hazem Barakat, an eyewitness and photojournalist, told Ahram Online. Barakat, who reported the incident live on Twitter, took photos and videos showing one of the Shias began dragged in the street after being beaten. "I saw several Shias stabbed several times while they were being dragged in some sort of public lynching," said Barakat. At least four have been killed according to the head of the Giza security directorate. According to eyewitnesses, there are not less than 30 badly injured Shias who have been transferred to hospital. The death toll included 66-year-old Hassan Shehata, a prominent Shia figure who was jailed twice under former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak for "contempt of religion." The police force came late according to eyewitnesses and did nothing to stop the attack and public lynching. "They were just watching the public lynching like anyone else and did not stop anything," said Barakat. "We hold President Morsi responsible for this attack," said Bahaa Anwar, a Shia activist. "There are not less than three million Egyptian Shiias who live in Egypt and last Saturday during the Syria solidarity conference attended by Morsi in the Cairo Stadium, Salafist sheikhs insulted Shias and incited hate against those Egyptian Shia citizens," said Anwar, adding that President Morsi did not refute these insults and incitement, though he claims to represent all Egyptians. The outspoken Shia activist told Ahram Online that there are not less than 40 Shia families in Zawyat Abu Muslam village. "Some of the families managed to leave while there are families who are still besieged in the village." Anwar said that Shehata was visiting one of the Shia families in the village when the attack happened. Salafist Islamist TV host Khaled Abdullah claimed that Hassan Shehata was attacked because he insulted the Prophet Mohamed's relatives, blaming Al-Azhar for being silent on Shias in Egypt hours after the attack on Al-Nas TV channel. Several Salafist and conservative Facebook pages, like "The Muslim Coalition to Defend the Prophet's Family and Companions," also bragged of the murder of the Shias, claiming that that was just the beginning of ending Shiism in Egypt. http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/74773/Egypt/Politics-/-Angry-mob-kills-at-least--Shias-in-Giza-village-i.aspx FOOTAGE OF THE ASSAULT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UHU3OOmxIc |

My hope remains that the same way the Egyptian Judiciary prosecuted the dumb cleric who defiled the bible,is the same Judiciary that would find strong commitment to prosecute all those involved in this attack especially as there is video evidence, one expects the idiotic policemen who stood by rather than get reinforcement, eb also prosecuted! if the dumb cleric felt he had a case against them, then he should have take it to court! May Allah bring all those criminals to justice! |

that is never justified. Killing anybody is a great sin. Killing a Muslim is graver. The killers themselves need guidance. 1 Like |

Egypt's Shiite killings raise alarm on hate speech Associated Press - 1 hr ago CAIRO (AP) — Egypt's Islamist president on Monday condemned the brutal killing of four Shiites by a cheering Sunni Muslim mob while the police looked on, saying the culprits must be swiftly brought to justice. But opponents of President Mohammed Morsi said he was in part to blame for implicitly supporting his hard-line allies as they stir up incitement against Shiites in response to Syria's civil war. A week earlier, Morsi appeared on stage with hard-line clerics denouncing Shiites as "filthy." Critics warn that militant Islamists are acting with dangerous impunity. Sunday's attack in the village of Zawiyet Abu Musalam, near the Pyramids of Giza, came as about 30 Shiites were having a meal to mark a religious occasion. Hundreds of young men descended on them in the house. In online videos of the killings, young men armed with metal and wooden clubs, swords and machetes, beat the Shiites on the head and back, trapping them in the narrow entrance of the house. The Shiites beg for mercy as blood streams down their heads and soaks their robes. A crowd pressing around them triumphantly chants "Allahu akbar" or "God is great." Others screamed "You sons of dogs!" One video shows a young man dragging the motionless and bloodied body of one victim by a rope. The videos appeared genuine and conformed with Associated Press reporting on the attack. Among those killed was a prominent Shiite cleric, Hassan Shehata. Afterward, the attackers congratulated each other, one witness, local activist Hazem Barakat, said in written and video account of the events he posted online. He said that in the weeks preceding the attack, ultraconservative Salafi clerics in the area had been speaking out against Shiites. A two-paragraph statement by Morsi's office condemned the killings. It said the culprits must be found quickly and brought to justice, vowing that authorities will not be "lenient" with anyone who interferes with the nation's security and stability. Police identified 13 suspects but have not yet made any arrests, security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press. A spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails, also denounced the killings. But in a seeming show of conservative Sunnis' distaste for the sect, he would not refer to the victims as Shiites. In a posting on his Facebook page, Ahmed Aref identified them as "the four dead who have beliefs of their own that are alien to our society." The violence was startling, even in a country where violence has increased dramatically in the two years after the ouster of autocrat Hosni Mubarak. Mobs in rural areas have in recent months lynched suspected criminals amid a rise in gangs robbing motorists and banks. Police still often don't act to stop crimes, and the public has grown increasingly frustrated over increasing economic hardships and shortages. Violence has also become a feature of Egypt's polarized politics, with opponents and supporters of Morsi repeatedly clashing in the streets. Attacks against Christians, their businesses or churches have risen in frequency. They are often sparked by specific feuds — even if fed by hard-line clerics' anti-Christian statements. Sunday's attack, in contrast, seemed a straight-forward unleashing of hatreds, prompted only by the Shiites' religious practice. Egypt's population of 90 million is overwhelmingly Sunni Muslim, with about 10 percent Christians. The small Shiite minority is largely hidden and its size never firmly established, though some estimates put it as high as 1 or 2 million. "Killing and dragging Egyptians because of their faith is a hideous result of the disgusting 'religious' discourse which was left to mushroom," top reform campaigner Mohamed ElBaradei wrote in his Twitter account. "We are waiting for decisive steps from the regime and Al-Azhar (mosque) before we lose what is left of our humanity." His Dustour Party blamed the president. It said the attack was "a direct result of the disgusting hate speech ... escalating and expanding under the sight ... of the regime and in presence of its president and with his blessings." Al-Azhar, the world's primary seat of Sunni Islamic learning, which has also warned against the spread of Shiism in Egypt, said in a statement Monday that it was "terrified" by the killings. "Islam, Egypt and the Egyptians are unfamiliar with killing because of religion, doctrine or ideology," it said. The past few months have seen a dramatic rise in anti-Shiite hate speech by Salafis, many of whom are Morsi supporters. Salafis, an ultraconservative movement of Sunni Islam, view Shiites as heretics and regularly denounce them on TV talk shows, websites and in mosque sermons, warning they seek to bring their faith to Egypt. The divide between the two main sects of Islam dates back to a dispute over succession following the death of the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th Century. Bahaa Anwar Mohammed, a spokesman for Egypt's Shiites, accused Morsi and the Brotherhood of "sacrificing Egypt's Shiites to please the Salafis." A presidential spokesman on Monday rejected any link between Morsi and anti-Shiite comments. "The presidency is responsible for the official statements and will not comment on unofficial statements," spokesman Ihab Fahmy told reporters. "The president's position is against any kind of incitement of violence or hatred among Egyptian society." But analysts believe Morsi is trying to strengthen Salafi backing ahead of mass protests due June 30 by secular and liberal opposition and youth movements calling for his ouster. The tactic came after one Salafi group, al-Nour Party, dropped its support for the president. At a June 15 rally attended by Morsi, aimed at showing support for Syrian rebels, Salafi clerics railed against Shiites. One cleric, Mohammed Hassan, called on Morsi "not to open the doors of Egypt" to Shiites, saying that "they never entered a place without corrupting it." Another called Shiites "filthy." Morsi remained silent during the speeches. In a similar vein, a cleric who addressed the rally denounced those participating in the June 30 protests as non-believers, reciting a prayer traditionally used against "enemies" of God and Islam. The increase in anti-Shiite rhetoric came in part as a backlash against an attempt by Morsi to reach out to mainly Shiite Iran after nearly 30 years of frosty Cairo-Tehran relations. The conflict in Syria, pitting Sunni rebels against the regime dominated by Alawites — an offshoot of Shiism — has further fueled the rhetoric. The al-Nour Party has put up posters around the county saying Shiites have distorted the Quran, Islam's holy book, and kill Sunnis. Khaled Said, a spokesman for the Salafi Front, a major group in the movement, condemned the killings in Zawiyet Abu Musalam. But, he added, "this is a normal reaction to blasphemy and corruption of the faith by Shiites." "We said before that we will not permit Iranian intervention and expansion in Egypt." http://news.yahoo.com/egypts-shiite-killings-raise-alarm-hate-speech-192036237.html |

The Shias: Egypt's forgotten Muslim minority Members of Egypt's Shia-Muslim community – whose numbers remain the source of debate – say they continue to face discrimination and persecution at the hands of their Sunni-Muslim brethren Zeinab El-Gundy, Monday 18 Mar 2013 Members of the culture committee of Egypt's Shura Council discussed their concerns on Monday about the possibility of Iranian tourism to Egypt, with some expressing fears that it could spread Shiism in the country. According to Ahram's Arabic news website, members of the committee called on Tourism Minister Hesham Zaazou to discuss the issue in the council, the country's upper house of parliament which is holding legislative powers until a house of representatives is elected. The committee, headed by Fathy Shehab El-Din of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), engaged in a heated argument on the effects Iranian tourists could have on Egypt. "The Shias are more dangerous than naked [women]," MP Tharwat Attallah of the Salafist Nour Party said during the meeting. "They are a danger to Egypt's national security; Egyptians could be deceived into [converting to] Shiism, giving it a chance to spread in Egypt," he added. Attallah also called upon the current ruling regime to limit Egypt's relationship with Iran, as the previous regime of ousted president Hosni Mubarak had done. Similarly, MP Abd El-Galeil El-Qassem, also of the Nour Party, said that Shiism would undermine the "essence of religion and the [Sunni] doctrine." He said that Egypt should put restrictions on Iranian tourism in Egypt because, according to him, Iranians aim to create strife in the country. However, MP Yehia Abo El-Hassan from the Islamist Al-Wasat Party disagreed with their concerns, saying that "the countries that cut off relations with Iran are the US and Israel." He added that tourists only come to Egypt for a limited time. The Salafist Call and the Nour Party, its political arm, held a conference in April against the spread of the Shia doctrine in Egypt. The Salafists and several other Islamic groups have expressed their concerns recently at potential Iranian Shia influence in the country. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were cut following Tehran’s Islamic revolution in 1979, but relations have improved since the election of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2012. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Egypt in February 2013. In April, more than 50 Iranians – the first official group of Iranians to visit Egypt for tourism in decades – arrived in Upper Egypt amid tight security. The visit came as part of a bilateral tourism agreement signed in February. http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/0/71355/Egypt/0/Shias-are-more-dangerous-than-naked-women-Salafist.aspx |

100,000 Egyptian Shias sign anti-Morsi Rebel campaign: spokesman Bahaa Anwar, spokesman for Egypt's Shia citizenship, says that over 100,000 have signed the Rebel campaign that aims to depose President Morsi in early elections Ahram Online, Saturday 1 Jun 2013 Over 100,000 Egyptian Shias, according to Bahaa Anwar, spokesman of Egypt's Shias, have signed the Rebel campaign that aims to withdraw confidence from Mohamed Morsi and force early presidential elections. In a statement released Saturday, Anwar said that exactly 100,253 Egyptian Shia signed the petition — some who live in Egypt and others who live abroad. Anwar said that these signatures have yet to be handed over to the main campaign. The fast-growing Rebel campaign, which officially opened 1 May, has gained around seven million signatures so far, according to organisers. The initiative has been backed by a large number of political parties and high-profile political figures. The campaign hopes to collect 15 million signatures in support of a vote of no confidence in President Morsi, outnumbering the 13.2 million votes he won in Egypt's first-ever free presidential poll in June 2012. It also calls for early presidential elections. The campaign hopes to conclude with a million-strong rally outside the presidential palace in Cairo to demand immediate presidential elections. The petition will be submitted to the public prosecutor. Anwar said that Egypt's Shias are against "religious rule," in reference to Morsi who hails from the Muslim Brotherhood, the group many opposition critics believe is the de facto governing body of Egypt. "They are looking forward to a contemporary civic state," he said in his statement. "Theocratic or military rule results only in destruction." There is no official estimation of Shias in Sunni-majority Egypt, but their number are believed negligible. Since Morsi came to power, anti-Shia sentiments became rife, especially among radical Salafists. The rift between Sunnis and Shias is the largest and oldest in the history of Islam, sometimes sparking open sectarian conflict. http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/0/72891/Egypt/0/,-Egyptian-Shias-sign-antiMorsi-Rebel-campaign-spo.aspx |

What prompted such words? Iranian ‘Ayatollah’ declares Salafi Muslims as disbelievers and Zionists! Furthermore,This is what you will find in the streets of Iran: It is written: Those who doubt the Wilayah of Ali are the sons of Zinah. ^ The Ayatollah is correct in saying the Salafists/Wahhabis are not Muslims and are Zionists, based on the word of the holy Prophet (sa) and politics respectively.the Salafists blow up themselves in the places of worship of Shia Muslims and members of the Sufi movement.they (salafists/wahhabis) declare them as "kuffar" and "mushrikeen".as per the words of the holy Prophet (sa) anyone declaring a muslim an "unbeliever" means that person is in fact himself the unbeliever.for them (salafists/wahhabis) being zionists, ever wondered why, with all the fire,Salafists/Wahhabis have never fired a bullet at israel, the enemy all muslims would agree on? Look at qatar and saudi arabia having excellent relations with israel. As for the saying that anyone who rejects the Wilayah of Ali (as) is a son of zina, that is in fact a prophetic hadith with a figurative message.it is a hadith reported from the Prophet (sa),regardless whether you accept or reject it.the point is the Shia didn't just say it to spite others. Nevertheless, the purpose of this thread is to condemn the Wahhabi/Salafist trend of killing others for having different beliefs, something even you have condemned (but are now trying to excuse or justify).we can be different, hold different views and beliefs and use even bad words.but it is wrong Islamically and morally to kill others because of what they believe in,and that is the trademark of salafists/wahhabis.that is against Islam and the rules of Jihad.it is not jihad when you blow a church or Shia mosque (or even sunni mosque) and kill innocent civilians.that is outright kufr because you are killing an innocent soul which Allah (swt) have made sacred;and killing an innocent soul amounts to killing all humanity in the holy Quran.having different beliefs or views does not justify killing others. |

^^^ So also is the salafist MP right in saying what he said about shias being worse than unclad women! Here is the Head of police in Iran making it pernmissible tokill people who do not hold similar views with them; In a reflection of the polarizing effect of the political battles, Iran’s police chief, Gen. Esmaeil Ahmadi Moghaddam, was quoted this week by the official Islamic Republic News Agency as saying it was “permissible to spill the blood” of anyone opposing Iran’s system called “Velayat-e-faghih (Wilayat Al-Faqih),” loosely translated as rule of the clerics. http://sonsofsunnah.com/2013/05/24/one-of-the-highest-iranian-authorities-not-following-wilayat-al-faqih-is-like-adopting-salafism-and-makes-ones-blood-persmissible-to-be-shed/ As usually spewing lies against other people to make yours look better only guarantee people looking down on your falsehood; Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab al-‘Aqeel (Saudi Arabia) 2005 “Terrorism is the terror that is caused by those groups or individuals who resort to killing and wreaking havoc and destruction. Terrorism is therefore, according to the contemporary compilers of modern Arabic dictionaries, killing akin to the riotous killing that is mentioned within the texts of Shar’eeah. As the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wassallam) mentioned with regards to the signs of the end of time, the spread of ‘al-Harj’ (riotous killing). The meaning of ‘al-Harj’ is killing and the increase of the spilling blood, which is all from the signs of the end of time. To the extent that the one killing will not know why he is killing and the one that was killed will not know why he/she was killed. Islam is free from this riotous killing, free from this terrorism and free from this kind of corruption. Terrorism is established upon destruction of properties such as factories, farms, places of worship, train stations, airports and the likes; Islam is clearly free from such actions that are based upon corruption and not upon rectification. Terrorists usually say that they are going against the state in which they are based within. This is like the mafia or other criminal organisations that are based on killing people, causing fear and taking their monies. Such criminal organisations have leaders, deputies and individuals that are responsible for establishing regulations for the organisation and individuals responsible for carrying out attacks, and all of them are terrorists causing corruption on the earth. However the ugliest face of terrorism is that which is established in the name of religion, all of the religions from the Prophets (peace be upon them) are free from such terrorism, even if some of the followers of the Prophets participated in such terrorist activities, but the Prophets are free from such corruptions.” I know to you a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth! when I see you condemn the killing of innocent by shias regime of Syria, Shia thugs in Iraq and the continued opression of sunnis in Iran, then we would take you more seriously Good day |

Egypt mob yelled 'infidels' at Shi'ites beaten to death Mon, Jun 24 12:42 PM EDT By Alexander Dziadosz ZAWIYAT ABU MUSALLEM, Egypt (Reuters) - Kasbana Abdelaziz's house guests had barely arrived when the mob was upon them, hurling petrol bombs and smashing holes through the roof of her home. The attackers then dragged four men - Shi'ite Muslims who had come to this Cairo suburb for a religious festival - out into the street and beat them to death. President Mohamed Mursi condemned the "heinous crime" that happened on Sunday and promised swift justice, but his opponents accuse him and his Muslim Brotherhood of allowing ultraconservative Salafist allies to whip up anti-Shi'ite sentiment in return for their support. "They called us infidels," Abdelaziz, said, sitting on her floor amid broken concrete, shattered glass and splintered wood. Two of her daughters stood weeping in the room behind her. The mob killing in Zawiyat Abu Musallem has caused outrage among opposition leaders in Egypt at a time of deep political tension in the Arab world's most populous country. Little is left of Abdelaziz's house in the Cairo suburb, an area of mud-brick and concrete-block homes, narrow dirt alleyways and fields of date palms in view of the Giza pyramids. The kitchen is stripped bare; a battered refrigerator door lies amid dust, scraps of cloth and bricks on the floor. Daylight pours in through holes in the ceiling. An image of the shrine of Imam Ali in Iraq, one of the holiest sites in Shi'ite Islam, hangs on a wall in the ransacked bedroom. Abdelaziz had no doubt who was behind the destruction. "It was the Salafists and the Brotherhood - they're the ones who attacked us," she said. "They did things you can't imagine." "INFIDELS" Shi'ites are a small minority in Egypt - though still number in the hundreds of thousands - and they keep a low profile in the overwhelmingly Sunni country of 84 million. But the war in Syria, which pits mostly Sunni rebels against President Bashar al-Assad and his Shi'ite allies, has worsened sectarian hatreds across the region. The violence in Zawiyat Abu Musallem started in the early afternoon, Abdelaziz and her daughters said, just after Hassan Shehata, a Shi'ite dignitary, arrived as a guest of her husband, a plasterer from the area. Hundreds of men gathered in the rubbish-strewn alley outside the house when they learned Shehata was inside. "He'd only just entered and come up when we found all the people upon us," Abdelaziz said. "There was chanting - 'you Shi'ites, you infidels'. People were chanting and people were throwing bricks." A video posted online showed a crowd dragging four men wearing robes from the house and beating them with fists and rods until they fell, bloodied and motionless, in the alley. One comment on the video, which has gained several hundred "likes" on YouTube, addressed Shehata: "May your filthy soul lie in hell forever and ever. Amen." Another video posted by rights activists showed dozens of men and youths looking on as several others drag the bloodied body of at least one man along a street, one pulling on what may be a rope around his neck. In other sequences, a group of black-robed women on a crowded, narrow street chant "No God but God!" Riot police are present in the video, which shows an officer yelling out in frustration: "They're beating us!" Abdelaziz said she did not know what had become of her husband, Farhat, but he may have been taken to hospital after the attack. Bahaa Anwar, a leader in Egypt's Shi'ite community, was quoted by state newspaper al-Ahram as saying Mursi and the Brotherhood were using the Shi'ites as a "scapegoat" to appease their Salafist allies. Liberal opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood also accused the movement of stirring up sectarian passions by joining in Sunni calls for jihad against Syria's Assad and his Shi'ite allies from Lebanon and Iran. Mursi and the Brotherhood angered Salafists by trying to improve relations with Shi'ite Iran after Mursi was elected a year ago but this month the Islamist group threw its weight behind calls for "holy war" against Assad, at a conference in Cairo. Mursi's opponents are planning mass rallies on June 30 to call for his resignation and early presidential elections - he and the Brotherhood have staged their own shows of strength, prompting Egypt's army to warn it may step in to impose order. ^ please provide the source of the news."sons of sunnah" is not credible since it a one sided sectarian outlet.the "sons of sunnah" according to the report is quoting what it calls "the official Islamic republic (of iran) news agency".it is either the Mehr news agency or the Fars news that must have carried the purported claim.so it is fair you give us a link to the news either from the website of Mehr or Fars.if not, then know that the report is either fabricated or deliberately distorted as Sunnis generally do to either win sympathy or make others look as bad as they are. and just for your info,Wilayat al-Faqih in Iran is the system of governance.one who rejects the system of governance or the political establishment (i.e. rebellion) in any country can be sued for treason or charged with one offense or the other if found guilty.i asked for the source of the report to know exactly what the police chief must have said and relating to what political situation or event.what are the exact words and what is the context of the statement if the report is genuine? I can "bet" my life that the police chief or any Shia official (even if he is not a religious authority) would not make a statement supporting what salafists/Wahhabis do: i.e. permitting the random killing of individuals for holding different beliefs or views,or bombing and shooting them in their places of worship. please provide the source or accept defeat. |

vedaxcool: what a joker you are. lets assume the reprt you're referring to is true.so a police chief warning against troublemakers, political dissidents and those wanting to spread strife against the regime is the same as salafist aka Wahhabi terrorists blowing up themselves in shia mosques and Christian churches and lynching people of different faiths? in authentic Sunni hadith: rising against the legitimate ruler equals to apostacy, and anyone who rise up against the legitimate muslim ruler should be killed.you are comparing a law enforcement official who works for a legal and official Iranian government institution to riff-raff salafist/Wahhabi terrorists who blow up themselves.how do you think O son of Aisha? if you support Sunni extremists (the salafists/Wahhabis) killing innocent people for believing what they believe in religion (not related to politics, crime or offense against the law) then say so without derailing the thread and covering your shame with silly arguments. |

This occurred after Sheikh Qaradawi preached hatred against other sects of Islam on June 2 2013. Does anyone see a connection? (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Qatari controversial grand Mufti, Yusuf al-Qaradawi has blamed himself for not taking a hostile stance against the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah before, in line with the Saudi Wahhabis. Qaradawi who is seen as the religious and inspirational leader of the militants and terrorists fighting against the government of Syria, told attendants at the Friday Prayers in capital Doha that Alawites, particularly Shiites are even worse than Christians and Jews. He called on all his supporters around the world to gather in Syria’s town of al-Qusayr and help the terrorists and fight along with them. He claimed that they would be facing with Lebanon’s Hezbollah in Qusayr. Qaradawi further slammed those who supported the Syrian government, including Russia, Iran and Lebanon’s resistance and called them “parties of Satan”. He did not mention crimes committed by all those countries that have strongly supported militants to take thousands of lives in Syria and make a crisis that threatens stability of the whole region. Syrian army has been engaging in fierce fighting with groups of terrorists and militants in its western strategic town of al-Qusayr. Clashes still continue but many parts of the area are now under army’s control. According to the opposition Syrian National Council, On Saturday, hundreds of militants tried to enter the town to help surrounded terrorists. 1 Like |

Who is Sheikh Hassan Shahata? Hassan Bin Muhamad Bin Shahate Bin Mousa al-Anani, Known as Sheikh Hassan Shahate, was born in November 10, 1946 in the small town of Harbit, Markaz Abu Kabir, in al-Sharqiyah province of Egypt. (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - He was a prominent Shia cleric who had thousands of followers due to his moderate views and his denouncement of radical and extremist movements in Egypt. He was one of the main religious figures advising the Egyptian army and was an Imam of one of the most important mosques in capital Cairo. He was well known for telling people about the nature of extremist groups and radical thoughts which are common in Egypt due to powerful presence of radical Salafist groups. His enlightenment was not welcomed in the ruling system. In 2009 Sheikh Hassan spent some time in jail under the government of ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak due to his speeches against radical movements harming Islam. 306 of his followers were also detained along with him. This wasn’t the first time he was arrested; before that he was arrested in 1996 for what the then authorities called desecration of religions. On June 23, 2013, Sheikh Hassan was brutally attacked at a gathering in the village of Zawiyet Abu Musalam by more than a thousand of Salafist extremists and along with 3 of his companions was harshly beaten to death. In Egypt, the small Shia population is harassed by the authorities and treated with suspicion, being arrested - ostensibly for security reasons - but then being subjected to torrents of abuse by state security officers for their religious beliefs. The Arab country has been witnessing a rise in hate crimes against Shias, which analysts believe is due to widespread anti-Shia propaganda by extremist Wahabis aimed at encouraging people to go fight alongside terrorists in Syria. Critics warn that militant extremists are acting with dangerous impunity. Murder of Sheikh Hassan The brutal attack on Sunday (June 23, 2013) in the village of Zawiyet Abu Musalam, near the Pyramids of Giza, came as about 30 Shias were having a meal to mark a religious occasion. A crowd pressing around them triumphantly chanting and shouting. Some screamed "You sons of dogs!" One video shows a young man dragging the motionless and bloodied body of one victim by a rope. The videos appeared genuine and conformed with Associated Press reporting on the attack. Afterward, the attackers congratulated each other, one witness, local activist Hazem Barakat, said in written and video account of the events he posted online. He said that in the weeks preceding the attack, ultraconservative Salafist clerics in the area had been speaking out against Shias. Raising wave of “hatred violence” Mobs in rural areas have in recent months lynched suspected criminals amid a rise in gangs robbing motorists and banks. Police still often don't act to stop crimes, and the public has grown increasingly frustrated over increasing economic hardships and shortages. Sunday's attack, in contrast, seemed a straight-forward unleashing of hatreds. Egypt's population of 90 million is overwhelmingly Sunni Muslim, with about 10 percent Christians. The small Shia minority is largely hidden and its size never firmly established, though some estimates put it as small as 1 or 2 million. It said the attack was "a direct result of the disgusting hate speech ... escalating and expanding under the sight ... of the regime and in presence of its president and with his blessings." Al-Azhar, the world's primary seat of Sunni Islamic learning said in a statement Monday that it was "terrified" by the killings. The past few months have seen a dramatic rise in anti-Shia hate speech by Salafis, many of whom are President Muhammad Morsi supporters. Salafis, a radical movement of Sunnis, view Shias as heretics and regularly denounce them on TV talk shows, websites and in mosque sermons. /106 http://abna.ir/data.asp?lang=3&id=433700 |

Egypt: Attack On Shia Comes At Dangerous Time The deadly attack on Shia Muslims follows weeks of sectarian incitement, and more violence is inevitable in the coming days. Tim Marshall Foreign Affairs Editor Four Egyptian men were beaten to death by a howling mob near Cairo this week. Why? Because they were Shia Muslims Ultra-radical Sunni Muslim Salafist sheiks led the mob which fell upon houses owned by Egyptian Shias who were celebrating a religious festival in the village of Zawyat Abu Musalam. When some local men saw a Shia preacher arrive in the neighbourhood, they began chanting: "The Shia are here!" Within half an hour up to 3,000 people had gathered, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Several hundred men broke into the houses, dragged out the occupants and beat them with sticks and rocks before stabbing some. Black-robed women stood by chanting and urging them on. Women and children inside the houses were injured as the mob threw rocks into the houses and then attempted to start a fire while chanting "Allahu Akbar" ("God is great" ) and calling the Shia "infidels". A wrecked room in a house attacked by the mob At least one man's body was tied to a rope and dragged around the streets. There was limited intervention by the police. Most Egyptians were horrified at the attack and people in the village interviewed by reporters in the aftermath denounced the violence as un-Islamic. However, even as President Mohamed Morsi condemned the attacks, many Salafist groups took to social media - not to hang their heads in shame, but to boast about the murders and vow to commit more. So far, so Klu Klux Salafi, but this attack did not come out of nowhere. It emerged from dog whistle politics, the fascistic bent of the extremist Sunni factions, and arguably, out of the Egyptian constitution. Blood stains are seen with soot on the wall of one of the attacked houses There have been weeks of sectarian incitement by the Sunni clerical TV shock jocks who dominate many popular Egyptian talk shows. The open rhetoric against the Shia has been magnified by the sectarian struggle in Syria, but has long been under the surface. This month, in the region around the village, Friday sermons in some mosques denigrated the Shia, and pamphlets were distributed calling for their expulsion. There are about 40 Shia families in the district. There are, at most, about three million Egyptian Shia, out of a population of 85 million people. Apart from the 10 million or so Christians almost all the rest of the population is Sunni. The small Baha'i minority are not recognised as a religious group. The current constitution, drafted by the ruling Muslim Brotherhood, changed the law regarding religion. Mourners carry the coffin of one of the four men killed Whereas previously it stated "Islam is the religion of the State" and ended there, now it says: "Islam is the religion of the state … and interpreting Sharia should be based on eminent sources of Ahl al Sunna wal Jamaa." This means that the law should be interpreted by Sunni scholars and traditions. That effectively means the constitution says Egypt is a Sunni Muslim state. The Salafists, and the Brotherhood, are sectarian. To them, not all people are equal. Firstly men are superior to women in some aspects of law, and secondly they believe the Sunni version of Islam is superior to the Shia. They view opponents as Shia, Christian, or even as unbelievers. Political ideas, liberalism, even economics, are less important to them than if someone is of a particular religious bent. The attack on the Shia, which follow the murders of almost 60 Christians over the past two years, comes at a particularly tense time and amid an ever worsening economic crisis. This weekend marks the first anniversary of the inauguration of President Morsi. His supporters and opponents will be out on the streets in huge numbers. Violence, which is the hallmark of the last two years, appears inevitable. http://news.sky.com/story/1107961/egypt-attack-on-shia-comes-at-dangerous-time |

Onyocha: Egypt: Attack On Shia Comes At Dangerous Time basilico: LagosShia: Egypt mob yelled 'infidels' at Shi'ites beaten to death The tyrannical regime of Iran and it's hezbo boys are stoking sectarian tension in the middle east by supporting and sponsoring murderers to roam Syria, the earlier they and other Govt. in ME realize that their games will lead to the calamity of them all, the sooner incidents like these will disappear! Unfortunately the rafidhi regime of Iran and it's Hezbo boys would not see reason and rather would side with oppressors who murder civilians and dame the backlash. at the end one hopes govt. across the ME would take proper precaution in preventing the needless death of minorities in their country and in cases where a police chief encourages murder of people who do not share similar ideology with them, the appropriate action in taken to deal with such rhetoric! |

vedaxcool: oh yeah, now its the fault of iran and hezbollah (because they support the popular and legitimate Syrian regime of assad against terrorists and foreign backed rebels) for salafist/Wahhabi vampirism and headchopping.there is no Hezbollah or iran supporting assad in Pakistan, but the salafist/Wahhabi terrorists (backed by the authoritarian, fascist, tyrannical and opressive Saudi Wahhabi regime) have committed a genocide in Pakistan against Shia Muslims.whats the excuse? there is no Christian group supporting assad in Nigeria, but your Wahhabi/salafist boko haram have committed massacres against innocent Christian worshippers and civilians.what is the excuse? the salafist/Wahhabi ideology is deadly,un-islamic,barbaric,monstrous,inhumane and silly, even if you want to cover for it because salafist/Wahhabi claim to associate with Sunni Islam. you can condemn all you want and call Hezbollah and iran names.if the salafist/Wahhabis have an issue with Hezbollah and iran for supporting assad, they should (as men would do) face Hezbollah and iran in the battlefield in Syria, instead of killing civilians everywhere.in Hatlah (Syria),Shia civilians got their throats slit and the excuse was avenging the defeat the Hezbollah back Syrian army gave to the Wahhabi/salafist terrorists in qusayr.you are not only finding excuses for injustice and terror, but you are also supporting cowardice against civilians.your Wahhabi/salafist terrorists should not have abandoned Qusayr, and should have stood their ground to battle Hezbollah.why did they flee? whatever you say, hezbollah have made it clear it will not allow takfiri salafist/Wahhabi groups-affiliated with alqaeda- to prevail in Syria, even if the US and the entire world of arrogance, disbelief, hypocrisy and terror are supporting the terrorists and the rebels against assad.as putin (pro-assad president of Russia) asked Cameron (british pm who supports terrorists in Syria) : are you supporting those who eat human organs? a video surfaced of a terrorist eating the heart of a Syrian soldier. |

Ayatullah Golpayegani Condemns Brutal Murder of Shias in Egypt Following the bloody massacre of four Egyptian Shiites including Sheikh “Muhammad Hassan Shehata” an outstanding Egyptian scholar, Grand Ayatollah “Loftollah Saafi Golpayegani” stated in a message to al-Azhar scholars: We are thankful of your reaction to condemn these crimes against humanity. However it is not sufficient. Your responsibility is more than before. Below is is his complete message: In the Name of Allah the Most Compassionate the Most Merciful And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah , the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy (Quran 85:8 ), Esteemed Al-Azhar Scholars, Al-salamu alaikum wa rahmatollah wa barakatuh To our regret and sorrow, we have been informed that Dr. Muhammad Hassan Shehatah has been martyred by an ignorant and deviant group in the most brutal and savage form. His body has also been disrespected –against all humane and Islamic values- depicting a very harsh and violent picture of Islam which is a religion of compassion and peace. It can be said these are not unprecedented actions by this ignorant and savage group since they have not only committed these crimes in Egypt but they have also imperiled Muslims’ security and peace in other Islamic countries creating a dark atmosphere for them. However it is surprising that this time these crimes have taken place in a country that hosts large university of Al-Azhar being proud of offering the world sublime Islamic knowledge and its fair virtues. Esteemed al-Azhar should take its primary responsibility more seriously. We are thankful of your effort to condemn this crime against humanity but it is not sufficient. As great Muslim scholars you are responsible before the dear Islam and you are more responsible than before. Don’t you see how wahhabi scholars issue anti-Islamic fatwas and urge Muslims to shed other Muslims’ blood? Don’t you think it might be a conspiracy by enemies who live in peace in their countries but try to wage a war among Muslims? Haven’t you seen pictures depicting brutal murder of innocent children, defenseless women and men; pictures they show the world?! Please stand up for Allah’s sake (SWT) and use the most of your spiritual and religious power; make a quick reaction for tomorrow may be too late. O all Muslim scholars! Let us call Muslims to unity and consolidation and follow this verse ” and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart Quran 8:46″ Let us show the world that dear Islam is the religion of mercy, compassion and kindness; it is a religion that wishes dignity for humanity. Let us announce to the world that our constitution is the holy Quran; a book we believe in and we would like to convey its great message to the world; messages that lead to eternal felicity. Ask the heads of Islamic countries to stop disunity and bow down before the holy Quran. With a heart filled with sorrow and grief for Muslims’ deplorable condition, I resort to Allah (SWT) and ask Him to restore Muslims’ dignity and defeat Islam’s enemies. 16 Sha’ban 1434/ Jun 25 2013 http://www.aimislam.com/ayatullah-golpayegani-condemns-brutal-murder-of-shias-in-egypt/ |

In the following clip you can see how Hassan Shaheta (back then when he was in Qom) cursed the Ahl Al-Sunnah and Sahaba left and right. In the following clip Allah exposed him by making him say what was hidden in his heart. He wanted to curse NINE of the al-`Ashara al-Mubasharîn bi-l-Janna i.e. The Ten Promised Paradise amongst the companions of the Messenger of Allah (صل الله عليه و على آله و سلم). Why (obviously) nine? Well, because according to the Ahl Al-Sunnah, one of those ten is Ali Ibn Abi Talib, so a Shia can’t just say that may Allah curse the ten sahaba who were promised Paradise according to the Sunni. Even Shia child knows that even, but Shehata seemd to had lost the plot long time ago and thus in one of his famous speeches he LITERALLY cursed all the ten promised paradise WITHOUT any exception. http://youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8k4clSHQDEc Hassan Shehata then responded by saying that Aisha the WIVE of the Prophet (he LITERALLY ADDED THAT!) was a Fasiqah and criminal who hurted the Ahl Al-Bayt and unjustly killed Muslims, so may the curse of Allah be upon her/the wrath of Allah be upon her or the WRATH of Allah upon me (Shehata), if I am a liar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=29PPYf0l3Wk In fact, after the famous Mubahila, Shehata appeared on ‘FADAK TV’, the channel of the rabid Yasser Al-Habib. He reconfirmed all his slander and responded to some rumours that after the debate he was struck by cancer or other illnesses. He dismissed all these rumours as ‘lies of the Wahhabis and Sunnis’ and to confirm that there is nothing wrong with him he repeated his insults against the Sahaba and the Mother of The Believers Aaisha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=29PPYf0l3Wk His own son (hamza Shehata) exposed him on air and mentioned how sick his father was and how (even whilst being a Sufi!) he started cursing the Sahaba http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lwsudZHGUBM The botttomline is Shehata was wrong to repeatedly provoke and denigrate others, but only the govt. of ay country reserve the right to undertake executions of people only after they have been tried and sentenced, hence the mob must be brought to justice |
