By Gbenga Femi.... Chief(ALHAJI ) Bisi Akande (Chairman),ALHAJI Tijani Tumsah (Secretary); Mallam ( ALHAJI) Nasir-el-Rufai(Deputy National Secretary); Hajiya Sadiya (Treasurer); ALHAJI Lai Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary. I HOPE IT WILL NOT END UP BEING ALHAJI PEOPLE'S CONGRESS (APC). If APC is serious they should know that Nigeria is more religious sensitive since the advent of Boko Haram. The time of TWO Muslims clinching presidency like the June 12 is gone forever. I am olnly opening the eyes of APC to the reality on ground. With this present structure- Chairman, Secretary and Deputy Secretary as muslims, they are starting on a wrong footing. We also know that their grand patrons are muslims. they should be prepare to convince christians that they meant well for them. Anyway, Christians, shine your eyes. In as much as I want PDP to go, I will never be part of ALHAJIS PEOPLES PARTY. Even when Christians are present, they are slaughtering christians. The best option for APC is a Christian President from the North or middle belt, a christian senate president. 1 Like |

Jittery pdp apologist rushing to comment doom. This is what our democracy has been denied since 1999, a properly organised political party that is not limited to a particular region. No wonder Gej people will not let us rest with all sort of scare mongering tactics like Alhaji's people's party etc. What we need desperately is an alternative to pdp. When pdp loses an election perhaps whwn next they return to Aso rock they wont take Nigerians for granted this much. Even if APC picks Buhari ,a man that could not islamise Nigeria under military rule, its now that we have a constitutional democracy that he will now islamise the country. 2 Likes |

Said it times over. To become a national party you have to take on a nigerian persona warts and all. This condemns the individual ideologies flown by the constituent parties to the merger. Believe me there will be so much compromise by the time election comes that even Tinubu won't recognize the party. However what we stand to gain as a nation is the pressure of good governance brought about by a strong rather than credible opposition. Those I pity are the die hard loyalists who made it a habit of berating the PDP. What do you say now and when the party reaches even further out. Nigeria's problem is in the Nigerian not in the colour of his political flag. 2 Likes |

For all who have issues about some of the APC excos being ex-PDP members, I think you should look at individual achievements and why these folks left PDP. Aminu Masari, for example, was a PDP legislator, former speaker of the House of Rep, yet he was one of those that made sure OBJ's 3rd term agenda did not sail through. Say what you will but anyone that defends the Nigerian constitution (even against the myopic views of his party leaders) deserves a real chance to lead! 1 Like |

What we need in Nigeria is to have FIVE parties which should be entrenched in our constitution. The benefit includes: 1. Cross carpeting will be greatly reduced if not totally eradicated. 2. Disgruntled members will be forced to reconcile within the party as leaving may completely edge him out of frontline politics or make him start afresh in another party. 3. Over time political structures and culture will emerge and stable since no one can just set up his/her own party as we have it now. 4. Do or die politics will die. 5. Respect for Constitutional provisions will increase. 6. Party democracy will be strengthened. I know the major antagonizing posture to this postulation would be that it is against freedom of association, but we must know that freedom cannot be endless, hence my choice of Five party system which will allow ample variety rather than two party system. My people, this will engender healthy competition and allow the electorates (both educated and non educated)to make informed and accurate choices at every election and democratic process. What's your view? |
Aminu Bello Masari- PDP EL RUFAI- PDP TOM IKIMI- PDP ANNIE OKONKWO- PDP More than 70% of critical officers of a party that is supposed to be an alternative to the PDP is filled with ex PDP members. And that same party is considering inviting errant PDP governors to join its fold. That same party is eyeing to field a Presidential candidate from the PDP in 2015 as it did with ATIKU in 2007 and Ribadu in 2011. To think we are told that PDP is the problem of Nigeria. Okay Finally I get it. It is not PDP members that are the problem, it is the name PDP. So we are just changing the name to APC. [/quot TRUE TALK |

nigerians embrace political parties like they are supporting european football clubs... Air of change my foot, whoever thinks apc really is fresh air or new uncorrupted ideology is deluded. Big obvious surprise, they're all the same, filled with sidelined politicians seeking relevance and desiring to dip their fingers in the pie |

Centdonald1: Its the same old *bull*. Its never been about tribal sentiments or a fight against corruption... Its a fight against PDP. And fighting PDP will NOT solve any problems. What do you mean by it is a fight against PDP? We have given PDP 14 years of our life for PDP to turn things around for us after a prolonged period of military rule. WHat have they done in these 14 years? Because the person leading the PDP government is from SS, we should fold our arms and allow the country to be destroyed? And people like you, if the person ruling is from another region, you will be the first to shout that things must change, PDP must be kicked out. Is this not fooolishness? |
