I seen many catholic insist the man coverts to marry .
I seen same in Islam .
I seen it in pentacostal (ie become born again).
In short I seen it in many religions.
Why do people do this?Surely this is a wrong way of getting someone to understand the faith.
How will someone view that religion if they are made to convert before they marry.
Surely pushing someone to join a religion will only make the person drift further away after the wedding.
To me I think it will best to wait till after the wedding and slowly ask the person to come once in a while to the church and who knows they might like it.
But pushing someone to convert for wedding ,seems the wrong approach .

Agreed but then love is 2 ways.Surely it is better to try "save" your partner soul rather then just have him drag his feet to your church for show off?

You can't force anyone to convert, those that do so do it at their own detriment, because eventually the man or woman would do what pleases him, love or no love.
