Hello all,

I want to adequately guage the music climate in Naija. I am working on my first CD project and my style of music is all across the board (Reggae, Blues, Pop and Gospel, Visual or Shock Rock, RnB, Jazz, HipHop and Ambient Dub) I have the music. I have selected where I will print my CDs in the US. How do I go about testing audience receival of the music? Do you know which stations are frequently listened to by listeners in the Abuja, Lagos, PH and other areas of Naija? Would a music video be a better bet in terms of attracting audiences to my music? Which recording studios are the most respected for RnB, Gospel and alternative music? I am very, very scared of piracy and intellectual copyrights. Which federal or state bodies regulate the copyrighting in Naija? So many questions! Please let me have your answers and also share any info you think will be pertinent to succeeding in the Nigerian music industry. In terms of sound, I would say my voice is similar to Asa's but I have a totally raz way of doing my own style of music. Help!

I have links in Abuja and Lagos with naija based music moguls.  I also happened to be a naija radio and club dj in the UK. If you're matertial is good it will sell itself trust me.

Every new artist should make their material available for open criticism, just ask 9ice he will tell you.

Hey Nubi,

I'm looking at an August/September release. I'm doing some finetuning this July.

You can check out some of my songs online but I'm kind of scared of putting my direct info on here. Have you got an email?

I'll send it to you so you can tell me what you think!

OR u know what, music is meant for public consumption. I'm going to stop being scared and put it on here:
