Dear friends this is what many Nigerians face daily: insensitive and wicked drivers of trailers and tankers who do not value life. Was it not just yesterday that 11 people including children were burnt beyond recognition in Ibadan? Now this, and there are many more cases we don't get to hear about. We can tell the FRSC that it is time for them to curb this menace since they are conveniently unaware of the recklessness of these drivers and their poorly maintained vehicles. Will you join me in signing an online petition calling for the daytime ban of these vehicles or will you continue to grumble or 'leave it to God'? Remember it could be anyone in this situation tomorrow, please click on the links below to demand safer roads. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/please-ban-the-daytime-movement-of-fuel-tankers-and-trailers https://www.facebook.com/StopFuelTankerAccidentsNow 1 Like |

I thought them Dangote drivers are graduates, some even up to PhD level.. A slap on Nigerian graduates.. A slap on the Federal Government. And the funny thing is that the FG can't do anything about the spate of Dangote-truck-induced road accidents. You can't bite the finger that feeds you |

That is how to be the richest black man: fill the roads of the country with reckless sub-humans driving trucks. I salute his business genius (and in helping Nigeria keep the population under control). |

This is the exact reason Dangote decided to start employing graduates as drivers.. Hopefully in the near future, the graduates will completely replace all these igboh smoking and burukutu consuming drivers. |

All those saying it was not his fault the accident occurred, biko who was supposed to help him make sure all locks, bolts and screws in his truck are well secured? Last year we lost a family friend who was about to get married cos the back door of a container carried on a truck suddenly opened while the mad man was on high speed hitting the poor guy on his head and he died hours later. Biko, they should teach those animals simple safety tips and rules and how to apply them before using the road and killing us all. Maybe if they fine them heavily and bare them from using the road for a specific period of time they will train their animal drivers well. Shior. Them for don cause sorrow for peoples family now. |

Though I applaud this initiative and pray more like these would spring up, I have to ask if the day time ban of these vehicles in necessary. I have seen developed countries, that seem to have gotten things right, allow trailers to move in the daytime. Its just that they are confined to certain lanes, and those rules are enforced 24/7, 365. |

In Nigeria, the poor are always the victims of all kinds. Trailer drivers in Nigeria have forgotten that they are humans too. Firstly, anyone who is hereby defending Mr Umar, the said driver of the involved trailer is lacking something in his or her sense either common or deep one. I put it to Mr Umar that, as a trained trailer driver, he at first, should inspect the vehicle assigned to him before getting on the road and by doing this, he will then be able to find out any faulty thing in the vehicle which may cause his day a bad or bloody one and get them corrected mechanically before handling the steering-wheel, such as locking the loosed cover of the sides of the trailer which resulted the accident as said in the news. Secondly, l'm not advocating extra-judicial killing such as lynching. But, those evil ones among other good Nigerians should be warned, they should try their best to give up their evil lives (thoughts) before the society start deciding for them, like lynching them in a slightest transgression of societal natural laws. No one can stand extremism of any kind. Therefore, let some evil minded Nigerians be aware of this and got a repentant mind within themselves, cos every day never come with blessings. Finally, to Mr Umar, he should thank his stars that angry mobs didn't catch him and his company on time otherwise they would haved lynched (ALUUED) him before the arrival of those two riot policemen. And, Mr Umar's denial of knowing that his vehicle's side cover open and caused havoc on other vehicle is a fruit of wrong gesture. Nigerians, please start changing inward, l mean, right from your individual minds for good, in order to evite the inevitable irate mobs or nozzles of the hangmen or the bullets of the military firing squad. Nigeria will be good when Nigerians begin changing from their thoughts (minds), that is how and where change starts. Thanks to you all there with good minds. Please, join let's build a country of our pride. |

I have seen two Dangote trucks, one trying to overtake the other, the slower one refusing and both of them dangeroulsy rammed into a rock by the roadside. Those boys do not care about life. |
