Are you guys just hearing stories like this?? :O E don tey nau! I have been hearing of countless ones and have seen @ least 2 incidences. The first time, a lady who was trying to cross the road slipped and fell. A container trailer which was on the road kept on coming with full speed although other cars had slowed down. Everyone screamed in fear at the driver to slow down but he kept on going as if nothing was happening. The woman's long attire was preventing her from getting up on time but luckily for her summersalted and thus escaped being smashed by the truck. As in she was just a second away from disaster!!!!!! The 2nd one I saw was anoda container trailer which severely bashed a car but zoomed off like nothing happened although the occupants sustained injuries. |

FRSC needs to adopt new measures in dealing with these truck drivers. Not just measures but strict measures that would make them to know that they can kill one of their own with their reckless driving |

lukaino: Haven't you noticed that majority of the truck drivers today are teenagers and adults in their early twenties? Truck driving should be open only to Adults from age 35 upwards. I know of a company who hire only 40yrs and above. this is to ensure that only people with some level of maturity and a sense of responsibility drive trailers. What we see daily is a display of youthful exuberance. May God save us all.it is not youthful exurberance, stop giving excuses for them.stewpeedity knows ni age,as far as i am concerned,it is animalistic behavious propelled by indian hemp and other narcotics |

Decryptor: When ever they do that again, apply the "Fast and Furious" technique...PLS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD DON'T EVER ATTEMPT SUCH RISKY ACT. MOST TRUCKS AND TRAILERS DON'T HAVE GROUND CLEARANCE HIGHER THAN A SMALL CAR. INFACT, EVEN IF THE RIDE HEIGHTS OF THE TRUCK IS AS HIGH AS AN SUV PLS DON'T ATTEMPT DRIVING UNDER THEM SO AS TO AVOID RUNNING OVER YOUR CAR AND SQUASHING YOUR CAR INTO A PAN CAKE AND GRINDING YOU INTO MINCED MEAT. |

Before i could say jack robinson, the tanker drivers bus hooked those poles and was already landing to the ground and we were so close to him.that day i thought my enemy will die.i just closed my eyes that day and when i got to my destination i was like thank you jesus |

Trailer accidents crush small vehicles almost on daily basis between Abuja and Lokoja. Some of these truck drivers are so wicked that when they try crushing you and fail, they throw purewater at you. They hate being overtaken. God is stronger than them! 1 Like |

Good thought. My own story was when I drove my family for 2012 xmas. I was overtaking a trailer and suddenly the guy just swerved to my direction, I was courageous to drive out of the road that is 1 meter high, moved ahead of the trailer and parked after driving few miles. Vehicles behind me were astonished, they all gave me thumbs up for thinking a way out. My God, I would not had been alive to testify if not by his grace. It happened at ijebu ode ore expressway, about 15km to ore |

3. Another reason I can think of is the same male ego of not backing down. The same way most male drivers react when someone is trying to overtake them by stepping on the pedal, some truck drivers will swerve towards you to discourage you or show disapproval of your overtaking them.this one is particularly true.I've been in a vehicle where the driver who was being careful was accused by some of the passengers as driving like a woman.what the heck is that? Anyway I've always learned to avoid this big vehicles ever since five of my sec sch mates lost their lives and plenty others sustained injuries when one these crazy drivers swerved into them at a sch bus stop.how heartless is that? These ppl are murderers behind wheels. And funny thing is that road crashes is the leading cause of deaths in nigeria now followed by malaria.statistics show that road crashes have managed to push every other source of danger to second place and emerged in the first position. Sadly, this is something that can be controled but aLas when will we pay heed ehie: Most Nigerians are crappy drivers,The trailers are just a microcosm of that percentage except they have the brawn (Big cars)are impatient like most Nigerian Drivers, and always want to drive fast, its just that when accidents happen with them the fatality is through the roof, death, amputations, spinal cord injuries and fire involving not one but more..so trailer drivers are just your typical Nigerian Drivers except that they are armed with a lethal weapon that brings maximum damagesexactly! 1000likes And driving is just another minute exhibition of our lifestyles.impatient in everything.selfish to the core.it's all about me me me.every driver wants others to disappear from the road so he can move.no thoughs for the second party.no considerations whatsoever.like 'I am the only important person in the world and others can go jump in the lake'.SMH 2 Likes |

Suprised the truck drivers pretend that they are not aware of the accident. We are all telling the same story. This one happened in my presence before Okada on my way to Lagos. The driver crushed a bike man(instantly dead) and was speeding going as if nothing happened. But he was chased and intercepted , when he was asked if was not aware that he killed somebody down the road , he was just mopping. Human life is nothing to them. |

To help us, the FRSC must find a way to dismantle the Indian hemp, paraga and shekpe dens that pass for motor parks or whatever in 9ja. The sheer amount of these items that get sold in the trailer parks and motor parks is also contributing to the high fatality rate on the roads. My twopence |

Thank God for Dangote, issues like this would no longer arise. Graduate Truck drivers with the right frame of mind would soon phase out these paragadrinking, a.s.sholes' bleeding,scums-of-the-earth truck drivers!!!!!!!!! and good roads with wider lanes too |

Do what I always do, don't overtake them if you don't see a clear chance. I remember a guy that came to my site clinic when I was at a lekki bridge project, a julius berger trailer driver aka AGAMA that's the very long trailer they use to convey sand, don't know what we were talking about but I remember him boasting about popping an Okada riders head with His trailer tires because okada riders are always, I was shocked and all that was running through my mind then was what if the Okada guy was my relative or someone I know, the guy was always high on weed, he eventually lost his job when he was brought back to the clinic for an alcohol test when he ran his vehicle into a poultry farm along lekki expressway late 2011. Fear them!!!!!! |

those 'aboki' guys not send anybody oooooo. I don't stay in their front, or at their back or even beside them. the fear of trailers of the highway is actually the beginning of road safety |
