UMUAHIA—Abia and Imo State governments may be on collision course as the transport company of the former has accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of stopping its operations in Owerri.

General Manager, Abia Line Network Limited, Mr. Ugochukwu Uwaeke, who made the accusation, said Governor Okorocha had last month personally visited his company’s loading bay at number 5, Wetheral Road to order its relocation without providing an alternative.

According to him, the governor said the motor parks constituted an eyesore to the aesthetics of Owerri, the state capital.

But Imo State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chinedu Offor, in a swift reaction said the action of the government was not political and not directed at Abia Transport Company alone, noting it also affected other businesses in the city.

Uwaeke said he would have ordinarily taken the development as normal government action but for ugly experience of securing a place to relocate.

He alleged that while his company was asked to relocate, other transport companies, such as Peace Mass Transit, were still loading in the area without harassment.

He said efforts made by the company to secure a loading bay on MCC road were frustrated by Imo State government officials.

According to him, this is the reason the governor’s action is being given political interpretations.

This clown okorosha is always looking for trouble. Wonder what Abia bus is doing in that state, at least I know that there is no passenger nor economic activities in Owerre.

Chino24 you are obviously from abia... that road is 2nd most important road after Douglas. Why not be objective in judgement. What is wrong in cleaning up ur state. I agree it's an eyesore. Imo state should provide them with a park.

Imo state would regret this .ITC loads in Aba and almost all futo,Nekede,Imsu and Avan students that resides in Aba patronise ITC. Okorocha should provide another park for Abia Line if really the move is not political
