Hamburg is a lovely place better than Berlin more industrialized, social activities and many Nigerians are there.

DANNIE-more:
Thanks @ Kelo314. of cos I know understanding the language would be of great importance. So, how about Hamburg which is Northern Germany, is it also cool like Berlin?
Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by DANNIEmore: 8:18pm On Nov 26, 2013
grin nice to know that so, i'm gonna enjoy my studies there..lol.. how you doing this evening Kelo? was asked to book my accommodation now so I did that today and by tomorrow, I would be sending all required documents to the school as they have requested again so they could get me my student ID card and other documents needed for Visa application thereafter. Just praying everything gets perfect IJN, amen.. So, are you working and how many hours do you wok and how far is your place from work? What does accommodation (private) cost like per month there in Berlin and could it be relative to the prices of same in Hamburg?

Dear my friend,

You should definitely check some webpages that my friends have suggested. I also am a student in Germany and there are many part time job opportunities. So If you want to make money while studying you should definitely work. If you are a good student than you should also apply for scholarships. Here are some scholarships you may find interesting:
http://www.frankfurt-school.de/content/en/education_programmes/doctoral.html
http://www.mawista.com/en/scholarship/

Only with hard work you could achieve everything in life that you need.

Bandit C.:

North Rhine Westphalia is a very big region with the highest population in Germany and lots of industries. It is a perfect place for engineering students to begin their career and they have some of the most hospitable people you could meet in Germany.

The state of Hesse has lots of industries too, quite notably, the Industrie Park situated in Frankfurt (it's as big as a small village in Nigeria) and would be the dream of any body who studied Chemical Engineering since all the companies situated there are the some of the biggest Chemical Companies in the world. Think BASF, BAYER, SANOFI, CLARIANT and so on. Other than that, Frankfurt is a purely banking and Stock exchange city with gigantic banking buildings.

Berlin does not offer much in terms of industries. It is a town where politicians, secretaries and assistants thrive. Think Abuja.

Other than that, the state of Hamburg is also another huge industrial region with lots of importing and exporting going on.

Bavaria is good (don't know much about it) but I heard that the people dwelling there are some of the most unpleasant people to meet. They even look down on other Germans and have some of tbe most effed up accent you can come across in Germany. Unfortunately they have some of the best looking german girls.

Whatever you do, stay away from East Germany. They hate you and are proud of it.

Bro, thanks for your generous contributions to this trade...i admire your assistance and would love to get some more from you.
Would you mind sending me your contact so that i can ask you some personal questions if you wouldn't mind. netco_ajoks3 at yahoo .com thanks

U will have a HUGE advantage, especially when u r goin there to hustle. U will also be offered free German classes by d skul, bt sometimes u might not be fully able to commit to ït, coupled wit ur skul work nd ur serious calculating on how to network for hustling. So ït depends on what ur goal ïn going there z all abt. i personally did not learn nd when i got to Germany, i had 'blocked classes' from 8am to 6pm, i was unable to attend d free classes. Ït limited my job scope, cuz i had to select jobs nd most job centres u go to registr 4 work, d 1st thing asked is if u understand a little German. Bt jobs dey shaaa! If u no sabi d lang, only say u go dey select, instead of picking one sharply.

Pls I've been battling with the choice of the best school to choose, but I picked some schools and they are all requiring for TOEFL or ietls which is not a problem but time is my issue. Please, based on the knowledge you have in Germany and their admission processes, is it compulsory I write them since my undergraduate course was instructed in English. And please which of these cities will you advice me to pick in this list: Paderborn, Ulm, Berlin, Kempten, Kiel, Bremen, Rosenheim and Darmstadt. Thanks.... Hoping to hear from you soon.

Get a letter from your school state ministry of Education stating that your Bsc course was taught entirely in English. Some schools used to wave it when you present the letter to them. For more info, check out this link. https://www.nairaland.com/676173/german-embassy-visa/305#676173.9760

There are schools in Germany that offered courses entirely taugth in English language. You can help yourself by going through this site using your own search criteria. But it is imperative to atleast understand the basis of the Language here in Naija because the advantages are enormous.
