Please does anyone here know much about GISMA Business School in Germany? Can't find much about them online. Offered admission in Business Intelligence and Analytics there at their Arden Uni, Berlin Campus. Reviews will be appreciated by those who know Germany inside out. Thanks people |
Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by pompido: 10:28am On Oct 30, 2019 |
vkyburnz: GISMA is a private university and unless you are ready to dole out 15k euros upwards, then try the free universities and put the 15k in your blocked account. The advantage with GISMA is that their programs are usually 1year so you get to finish faster but the con of this is you get very little time to settle down and integrate in Germany (i.e. get internships, work as a student. etc.). You also end up with maximum of 1year residence permit because your program is for a year meaning even if you want to spend more time (taking a semester off) will require you to jump more hoops to get an extension. This is Berlin that gives 3years permit to tuition free students. I have a friend that just started there this winter despite my objection. The school waited till last minute to let her know they couldn't help with accommodation even though it was part of their care package. She now pays 700 euros per month for rent after spending 2 weeks in an Airbnb apartment of over 30 euros a night. So think about your short and long term objectives to help you in making a decision. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hadampson: It should not be a matter of which is too much or too low, but I think It's always better to come with enough money that will be enough to be psychologically settled before your account is unblocked. €400 may be enough if you have already settled accommodation and you're coming with food stuffs. Then you only need to buy minor stuffs and still have money to cater for urgent needs. In my own case, I settled my accommodation from home and I only held €250. At the point of entry into Germany, I have only €160 on me (.. Lol). So, I became very careful of my spending, I still exhausted the €160 in a week (had to get some stuffs). However, if you haven't settled accommodation from home, 1k€ is not much to hold. Anything can happen! P. S.: If you don't have up to that, you won't die 2 Likes |

chimax1: Really concerned about the feedback am getting from friends in DE about the job situation. A friend has been there since March, no job till now, another since winter 2018, still no job. They have both been vigorously applying. Makes me wonder, is it really all worth it? I know the first aim of going is to study but side hustle is very important too to keep body and soul together. Goztino: Bro but are jobs hard to come by in Aachen?? |
Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by janettee(f): 5:31pm On Oct 30, 2019 |
Awani007: Can they speak German?. It's relatively hard to get a job as an international student in some cities if you can't speak German. |

Hi Mates, can someone put me through on the pros and cons of putting studies (MSc. prog after one semester) on hold for about 9 months for intensive language classes ( to be held in another city). Contributions are highly appreciated, cos I recently thought; the lang. skill play important role in landing jobs after studies why not do as mentioned above. Let's rub minds. |
