The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) have reportedly not paid Super Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi,for the past five months.


It is understood that Keshi has not been paid since January that he led Nigeria to a triumphant Nations Cup campaign,in South Africa,following a paucity of funds by the NFF.




Since the Nations Cup,the NFF have been complaining about a lack of funds,which led to a cut-down in the technical crew,and also the slashing of match-bonuses of the Super Eagles.


But the NFF claim that they have a working understanding with Keshi and his crew.


“We’ve been working together with Stephen Keshi since November 2011 and he knows the peculiar financial situation of things with the federation,” NFF Secretary General,Musa Amadu told BBC Sport.


“We try as much as possible to pay our obligations, likewise the coach, and we’ve had a very good working relationship.”


Amadu further stated that Keshi and his assistants,perfectly understands the challenges of the NFF,though he claims that some detractors might want to sow a seed of discord.


“I know the coach will not bring to the fore any such matters. Perhaps there are people out there that want to capitalise on such matters to create problems between the federation and the coach.”


“But I know that obligations to the coaching crew are always settled, and we do have the understanding of the coaching crew in this regard.”


Can Keshi function optimally,with the knowledge that he is owed for such a long time? And if i may ask, where is the money collected from FIFA for participating at Confederation Cup 2013 in Brazil is, if the personality that carries burden of a whole team, refuses to be paid for 5 months?
