I wasn't following this issue, initially, but with the acclaimed asylum offers being thrown at Snowden, it's had me thinking. And - thinking out loud - Snowden's intentions may be considered patriotic on leaking the documents(if you consider the extent to which the US is violating "right to privacy"... on a large scale. I suppose Snowden thought about everything but these:
(1) You can't strip a governments pants and get away with it.
(2) When push comes to shove, very few countries wouldn't move if the US shoved them.
(3) How quickly the government can make out a citizen as the enemy in the wink of an eye.
(4) How soon his fellow Americans will forget he aint the enemy.

Well he knows all these now... But much too late.
There's very little he do except run and/or seek asylum. He's best bet would be Cuba or North Korea. However, i think he may be avoiding those countries for multitudes of reasons especially two:
asylum in those countries will be considered defection and his whistleblowing will be considered espionage. Americans are not fond of these countries so public opinion or whatever's left of it will sway against him. Snowden will have to think fast cos time is running out. Damn, he's in deep shit!

Venezuela and Nicaraguas' offers of asylum to Snowden is an opportunity that is gonna slip away if he waits too long. Most members of the Russian Parliament are uneasy about Snowden pitching up tent in their airport lounge.
Snowden will be wise to just marry a Russian. The Guardian reports Anna Chapman(one of the Russian sleeper agents deported from the US in 2010) has proposed to him. I consider her a safer bet than asylum in Venezuela, Nicaragua or Bolivia...

These countries may stare Uncle Sam in the face now, i doubt they can keep their gaze for long under the pressure of sanctions by US and allies - they'll cave, EVENTUALLY. Besides, how on Earth does Snowden intend to get to those countries with the 'air barricades' in place. I think he can save himself a lot of worries to come by dumping asylum and marrying Chapman. Uncle Sam will only huff and puff at Mother Russia. Gran may be old but she's still one humonguos and dangerous COW. Well... I think Snowden will first wait till the last hour then marry Chapman to make it look like a desperate attempt. Anyhow, It is a desperate attempt...

United States says its international relations has been marred by the publicity on their surveillance programme. And also claim that they're mending these relations with affected countries, which i presume to be all countries. I'm only surprised the affected countries are not sanctioning the US for doing these in the first place and even continuing it. 'Cos one thing is certain, the surveillance IS STILL ON. So what relations are getting mended? Are those countries NAIVELY DAFT OR ... JUST COWARDLY. I think they're both, so only four countries have balls.
Nigeria? Don't kid yourself we don't even have EMPTY SCROTUM for putting the balls in.
