someone attempted wrong patterns on my phone and now its asking me to sign in. That is fair enough but the issue is that my data was on OFF mode before the attempts.
Now I have my correct login details with sufficient data on my SIM but I can't get the phone to connect.

Your best bet is to boot to recovery mode and clear data.

in time past mtn used to inform u dt ur 5mb wil soon be used up, bt now, they dont, well u can be checking ur usage. just dt i dont know how.

Shut down your phone, boot to recovery mode by pressing power button + volume down simultaneously. Click on clear/wipe data.
