There is something called postnatal depression, where after a lady gives birth, she becomes depressed. They become withdrawn, and start having a lot of self negative inner talk.
Many people in Nigeria don't know about this or the symptoms. I believe when these ladies are committing suicide, they have already convinced themselves its better they are not in this world.

I know someone that had it, i saw all the signs, i made sure i kept talking to her even when she didn't want to talk, I avoided any negative remarks , i kept saying positive stuffs and was able to convince her to see a psychotherapist. She didn't want me to see the evaluation results, but i already knew the answer.

Jump almost 2 years now, She has gotten far better now and doesn't get depressed quickly.

In as much as it is not as bad in Nigeria as it is here because of our beliefs and upbringing, I think for us men, if your partner is pregnant, know more about Postnatal depression and things that could be done.
Am pretty sure that if this man knew about this, he would have found a way to help the wife before it was too late

In d types of suicide,this could b called egoistic suicide.In d game of life,life scores a lot of goals against us,our ability to bounce back depends on how resloute and commited we are.I dont think it is right to give up on life because in d game of football,d winning goal can b scored in d last minute of d game.Life is not over because u have a challenge,it's over because u quit.When there are setbacks,there are always opportunities for comebacks.May God forgive her sins and accept her in heaven.May He be d wife and mother to those she left behind.Amen.

Being an illiterate is a really bad thing. The woman is 35 years old. Midlife crisis begin for some when one is in their mid forties and above. And what she suffered from is postpartum depression but I know many Nigerians with their low IQ won't know what the hell that is neither will they recognize the symptoms.

Most probably a case of postnatal depression. Even in the most advanced countries in the world, sometimes the signs are missed or totally ignored. Do we have the resources to spot and treat such women who fall into such depression? RIP lady what nightmare for the child who woke up by 2am to see a dangling body.oh the stuff of nightmares which only goes to show a mother in her right sense would never have put her child through that. definitely a case of depression

A sad case that comes to mind was the incident that took place last year in the UK where the woman (Felicia Boot) killed her 2 children.

So you want the new born infant to sleep on the same bed with father and mother? What if the man rolls over the baby by mistake and hurts the baby? What if the man has NO self control and does not want to feel tempted to sleep with his wife so soon thereby getting her pregnant again? Then again, I am not surprised that some of you are insinuating that the man killed his wife. Isn't that what happens quite often in Nigerian marriages?
