A Fulani woman, on Monday, was delivered of a monkey-like baby at the General Hospital Kagarko, Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State, after several hours of labour.

The incident threw those at the hospital into a wild surprise as no one could explain what wonders they were seeing. The baby has a monkey-like face, ears and legs, but without a tail.

It was gathered from reports that the woman got to the hospital at about 7:30am on Monday and was quickly attended to. After much bleeding, the woman was taken to the theatre to be operated on. It was in the process that the baby started coming out with the legs. So, she was allowed to deliver the baby by herself.

However, the baby died shortly after delivery. The child weighed about four kilograms at birth, we learnt. The mother is now receiving treatment at the hospital.
