Despite the claims by the federal government that the Jonathan administration is waging a committed fight against corruption, majority of Nigerians say the government is merely paying lip service to the effort to stamp out corruption, a survey by Transparency International has shown. |

Isnt it obvious? When Alams is the presidential adviser, Bode George is one of the kingmakers in PDP, Anenih is Retardeens godfather Patience, Retardeens wife is wanted for corruption charges and the president himself was the deputy to Alams when stealing Bayelsa blind 4 Likes |

If GEJ figures a way to re-rig himself as President, before 2019 Nigeria will definitely be history. |

kingoflag: If GEJ figures a way to re-rig himself as President, before 2019 Nigeria will definitely be history. The onerous task of building anew nigeria is bestowed on this generation && the 1st step is to kick GeJ who happens to be the most docile, clueless && idealess president dis country would ever produce out of power. 2015 would either be the focal point of Nigeria's development or destruction. |

iykofias: D remaining 15% wil b d politicians No. They would be clannish elements who would rather cut their nose to spite their face. We even have many of them on this board. Did you not see them blindly backing GEJ to remove fuel subsidy because "we won't join any protest as we can afford fuel at any price" and "we are not complaining like others"? @Topic. Any surprise the statistical input of Nigerians themselves now provides a damning and definitive indictment things have worsened under GEJ? A President who, before the entire world, rejects many advice that would enable Nigeria to drastically reduce graft and malfeasance can be viewed to be nothing other than an enable of corruption. This is why world leaders savage him daily and can barely hide their disdain for our President. His handlers and worshippers can tell all the lies they want and spin as they wish but Nigerians themselves have spoken and their damning indictment is that corruption has worsened under GEJ. They now meet more corruption in their daily lives than was the case in the past. No way to spin that but these people who have no conscience will surely try as we saw Omokri doing. |

85 percent indeed. If you asked those 85% of nigerians why they perceived that the level of corruption has increased under the administration of GEJ, they'll all baseless and unreasonable answers. If you also ask them to chose their preferred presidential candidate who they believe will sweep corruption outta the country, 85% percent of them will either pick Buhari or Ribadu. Now the problem is; even if Buhari was president, these same 85% will still complain that he's not doing enough to fight corruption. OBJ's government was believed to have a strong stand against corruption and yes actually did. But his government squandered 16 billion dollars on power without any positive result. Infact, OBJ's government was actually very very corrupt but Nigerians believed otherwise because he had an active anti-corruption machinery which he used to chase "perceived" corrupt elements in government and society. The crux of the matter is that Nigerians or 85 percent of them don't have a unified stand on how corruption should be tackled in Nigeria and they also tend to have the wrong perceptions on level of corruption in the country. 1 Like |

Are u saying their reasons are baseless? Fuel scam, silence of EFCC, presidential pardon to convicted corrupt criminal, presidential protection of Maina and co are all baseless? Look some of us like Gej but d reason they are shouting his name now is that if he can't reform the basic things now, who will do it? The quicker we know ds the better. If we support evil now because he is from our tribe, state, region or i'm making money 4rm him, he will leave dt place and u will be back to square one after him. Some element will also pamper dia own when he get their, then the circle will continue. |

seunfly: The same and only thing others are saying. These are not strong reasons for claiming that the level of corruption has increased. |

I see the tribalists don't want to put the feelings of everyday Nigerians on the front page. But if Abati or Lai Muhammad said this without any proof it would be on the front page in seconds. Put someone else's thread about this poll on the front page, if you don't want it to be mine, but we MUST have a discussion about this. I never would have thought the that majority of Nigerians have REFUSED to pay bribes, for example. WE DESERVE TO HAVE OUR VOICES HEARD! |
