KidStranglehold: idioot when it became italian somaliland thats when the war was over and it became a trusteeship under the un for ten years before that somalia had 20 year against the british who called our leader mad mullah, somalis hated the british but the italians helped somalis invade ethiopia to get the ogaden again you dont kno basic facts |

somalia11: Yet the multiple sources disagree with you. In 1889 the Italians colonised the south of the territory which is now part of Somalia. This area became known as Italian Somaliland. http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/so-itso.html The Italians only helped you guys out of vengeance for the Ethiopians whooping their white @$$es and embarrassing them in front of their white bretherns. Italy tried another attempt to colonize Ethiopia, but it was short lived. The British and Ethiopians together easily defeated them. Italy was getting their @$$es kicked all throughout Africa not only by the British but some Africans. Also...Doesn't Ethiopia still control Somali land I believe you don't know your facts and neither do you know how to spell. |

KidStranglehold: ethiopia controlls ogaden, ogaden is inhabitied by somalis, but we invaded ethiopia along with the help of arabs and turks in the 1500's. italian somaliland controlling somalia is nothing like west africa, as somalis and italians were trying to unite the ogaden with the rest of somalia. italians actually freed the bantus but still used them as plantation workers While upholding the perception of Somalis as distinct from and superior to the European construct of "black Africans", both British and Italian colonial administrators placed the Jubba valley population in the latter category. Colonial discourse described the Jubba valley as occupied by a distinct group of inferior races, collectively identified as the WaGosha by the British and the WaGoscia by the Italians. Colonial authorities administratively distinguished the Gosha as an inferior social category, delineating a separate Gosha political district called Goshaland, and proposing a "native reserve" for the Gosha.[13] |

somalia11: The point is you guys were colonized and conquered by the weak and inferior Italians. Italians have no room to talk about whos inferior. They were looked down upon by their fellow European bretherns and worse... http://www.niaf.org/milestones/year_1891.asp At least West African like the Mandinka and Ashanti put up great resistance against the French and British who were actual superpowers unlike the Italians. Italians controlled most of Somalia compared to the British. Also West Africans like the Senegalese had a lot of rights and freedom during colonization. |

@Kails LOL! @sambos994 I thought nobody would ever ask. My ancestors on my Haitian side. Clearly my ancestors on my Haitian side were most likely a part of the Haitian revolution. Which had a big impact on the new world. Thats what I mean when I say my ancestors. Somalia11 character thinks we West-Central African descent people most claim horners to feel better or have some self esteem. When I descend from the people who created the first black republic(it was really an empire, but whatever) and defeated THREE superpowers at that time. Which is why I think its funny that he even made this thread. |

I'm actually quite a fan of early Hausa civilizations. Loved their architecture. As for the Igbo people. I heard they had a very advanced democratic system, especially the Nri kingdom. I don't know much about the Igbo people. I know more about the Yoruba. Sorry. |
