Reinstating Major (''GENERAL'') Hamza Al Mustapha Into The Nigerian Army by ochejoseph(m): 11:49am On Jul 13, 2013 |
On 12th of July, 2013, The Court of Appeal in Lagos discharged and acquitted Major Hamza Al-Mustapha from the murder of Kudirat Abiola. The judgment over turns an earlier verdict passed on the Military Officer by a Lagos High Court which sentenced him to death by hanging. The presiding judge accused the lower court of being “stroked to secure a conviction by all means. Therefore , Major Hamza Almustapha was set free. This new judgement opens a plethora of questions, what's next for this military officer? Will the Army re absorb and promote him him? Or will they retire and send him packing ? After serving 14 years behind Bars and missing about 4 promotions in the Army as a result of the trial he had to Face . In the history of the Nigerian Army no precedent has been set with respect to officers who missed promotions due to long period of trials . Most of his colleagues in the army have attained the Prestigious rank of General His former course mate now retired colonel Ibrahim Musa urged the military to re integrate him into the Nigerian Army because he is still a serving military officer. Lt.Gen Victor Malu declared publicly during the Oputa panel ,'' that Major Al-Mustapha is a very capable and competent Army officer who had always carried out his official duties very well and diligently." Major Hamza Al- Mustapha was a member of the 29th course Of the Nigerian Defence Academy . Some have argued that the experience and intelligence of the Yobe state born Major Hamza Almustapha will be an asset to the Nigerian military as it confronts her greatest post civil war challenge. However , with most of those who insisted he was guilty still welding some measure of influence behind the scenes it is difficult to predict what the future Holds for this Man |

Anything is possible in Nigeria. We won't be suprised if Jonathan makes him, his SA on Amaechi affairs/matters. Afterall that is the kind of thing Al mustafa does very well & Amaechi has proven more stubborn than Kudirat, Pa Rewane et al. |

Since he's been proven innocent,he's entitled to all peripheral of his occupation. Don't be surprised he's contesting for a political position in his state, and he would also be given a presidential pardon. |

Al Mustapha is a sure-fire guaranteed Boko Haram terror sponsor in the making, and as such he should be annihilated by drone missile, or by sniper projectile, as a matter of great urgency. The only "promotion" due to this unrepentant serial murderer would be a promotion to the deepest recesses of Hades, where he can join his horrid little boss, Abacha of the Indian hookers fame. |

Lest not make baseless allegations more people have died or have been murdered under this democratic dispensation than the entire military era |
