I am here protesting the discrepancies our Nigerian Telecoms service providers are offering to us. Their preference for cheaper BlackBerry subscription on their network is a very huge difference, compared to their High Speed Internet service HSI plans.
We the Nigerian Telecoms subscribers need as a matter of urgency, equal DATA volume and equal subscription amount for BIS and HSI plans.
This cheating that have been going on for years must stop right now.
We therefore call on you NCC to please, come to our aid by compelling these service providers (Glo, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat) to equal the differences between BIS and HSI plans now.

Good point but this is my take..bbm service is pretty new on android phones n Iphone sp u sudnt xpect some smooth runnin service 4rm d start..bb subscribers startd payin 5k/month 4 many mnths den it got to 3k and den 1k5 for a very long time b4 it was made 1k..now that took a very long time to come so 4 android users it myt take a pretty long while.Having said that,its cool to c d youths come out to agitate a need usin d online media but sudnt we also speak out for more meaningful things??We all deserve a better Nigeria,let's demand it!

Let me add this if it will make any sense.
First, i am in full support of the protest but you guys should consider this facts.

1. Data pulled by blackberry.net is not coming from any of this network providers but from blackberry servers, I don't know how they sort it out but that is the fact.

2. Mtn has now cut down the data for the BBC to 350MB I can confirm that

bottom line : if anything positive is expected then it shouldn't be a protest on data for Android devices but general reduction in the prices of data in Nigeria. We deserve unlimited data plan even as cheap as 3k.

If we narrow the protest to Android devices, in respect to blackberry devices then it's already a failed protest.


a friend was discussing how other African countries are enjoying unlimited and cheap data..... this are the kind of information we should research on and hold as facts.

Mahn, I've spent so much on data plans in a year that could actually buy me a damn new iPad and a galaxy note with it. It's appalling. Their plans are too expensive. Was using the MTN bis on Android but it got blocked. I no like all these kurukere style of "stealing" data from them so they should try to improve on their plans. If i pay 1000 naira for a month and they give me 1gig, i won't complain. If they can add more gigs on it...better.

Dear NCC, you guys have been doing a great job,especially ensuring that nigerians and their mobile phones never get cheated. But of recent,through the outcome of the blackberry subscription bundles,our network providers have failed to assist or we android users in giving us any meaningful data plan for our use, knowing fully well that we users consume alot of data everyday. So I plead with you to help sanction these network providers including MTN,GLO,AIRTEL,ETISALAT and others to give us a meaningful and attractive data bundle for android users so that our money would be utilized properly.

Remydee: Actually i use airtel, wen i started too, my mom wud insult me dat i am spending all my money on card cos my phone was new then, needed to download apps. So i did dat for months until a frnd gave me a tip which is what i use now.
I use Airtel BB subscription. I send BSM to 440 for 1200 and i get 1gig. U can also try a week first at 400 for 100MB... Dats BSW to 440

I dnt blame u.... Ur status reads (F) Female, so i guess u dnt knw abt apps? Hav u eva tried to dwnld an app of abt 1.5GB in the space of 2hrs(Fifa 12)

i feel una pain, but that is why there is competition..... I don remove my mtn from my S3 since, i'm rocking Zain now.

My Advice to you would be to get a Zain sim (#1,500 = 2gb). Zain doesn't discriminate BB or Android or IOS all na the same to them, that's why BB users with Airtel can watch Youtube videos with #0.00.


Port to Airtel now, when MTN ready they go inform us, when ppl start to dey PORT nobody go tell MTN they go do wat is right.
