On this site, as well as other Naija sites, I am always amazed at the amount and depth of hatred I see, falling from the fingers of Naijas and non-Naijas who call themselves Christians.

These self-proclaimed Christians seem to delight in directing their specific brand of hatred toward others based on Ethnic Group, Race, Religious Belief (or lack thereof), Political Affiliation, Sexual Orientation, Social Class, Choice of Mate, Educational Level and everything in-between.

If God is about love...then what are those who call themselves Christians about...when they go around hating on other people?

It is impractical for one to call himself a Christian and hate other persons at the same time. To be a Christian implies being open to receive Christ whenever he comes calling.

Christ made us understand that each time we do good to our neighbour, we extend same to him. So when one says he is a Christian but cannot show love to his or her neighbour, who happens to represent Christ, then that individual does not know what Christianity is about.

And although I referenced Naija sites, they stand in company, among the hatemongers present all over cyberworld AND in the real world, specifically those that call themselves "Christians".

christians never cease to amaze me. i have a neighbour who is a christian and since he discovered that i am an Eckist, he stopped talking to me and stopped answering my greetings. i could feel so much fear and hatred coming from him that i let him be. he put posters of Jesus Christ in every corner of the compound and every morning and evening he plays his christian music very loudly and shouts holy ghost fire in tune with the music.
i simply wish him well and go on with my life.

Its not about striklymi, if he hates others that's is his problem and impractical as a xtian, it is about what ought to be.

My aunty doesn't speak to me becos i do not believe in Jesus. She feels since i am going to "hell fire" she would rather stay clear.

what you are experiencing is very common. once most people who claim to be christians hear that you are not one of them you are immediately ostracized and treated like a leper.
so far as i am concerned as much as i have read the Holy Bible and seen what it takes to be a real christian, there are very few real christians on this earth today. like 0.0000001%. if Jesus comes back today He will be really disappointed that he has very few real followers to take back to heaven with. the rest are just answering a nomenclature.
