I have a friend who has this problem and i feel like sharing it with you all for some pieces of advice, the guy is really in need of it now...

He has being dating this young woman for eight months now and really loves her but the problem is she is asthmatic, always sickly and weak. Yes at the onset she told him about this condition but didn't tell him that it runs in her family as her siblings(acute) and mum has it too. He found out himself while on a visit to the family and wasn't happy about this.He really loves her and was planning to consummate the relationship by the end of this year.Prior to getting to know this he had wanted to continue with the relationship based on the fact that he loves her so much and can live with that(her condition), but with this new info and the realization that her condition is hereditary, he is now very confused and doesn't know what next to do; whether to continue with this relationship considering his future (children ) with her or even if he is to call off the affair how does he go about it in order not to further hurt or worsen her situation as she loves him very very much too..My guy is a one woman man and is really really down right now...Please he needs your advice..

He was actually not aware that asthma is hereditary but after researching online got full proof that it is..

my dear, they two are just inseparable and where you see one you will most likely see the other...Yesss its their future offspring's welfare that bothers him the most as he has already signed to be with this woman before discovering that it runs in her family..Left for me i will just.... but this two are bonded and he fears if he leaves her she might sink below

There are diseases worst than asthma. The decision is for him to make, if he can live and with the lady that means he can cope with the children. Besides not all the children will have it, depending on the number of children they have, one may turn out to have acute asthma, some the disease will stop as they grow up and others wont have it all. There is nothing wrong there.

Am just wondering if its fair,I am asthmatic, 2of my siblings used to be but miraculously outgrew it,mine has improved so much,none of my parents are asthmatic but I have cousins that have had it in time past and outgrew it and some still do so I can say its hereditary.My boyfriend treats me like an egg......it doesn't seem to bother him one bit!I do not have attacks often anymore though as a kid it was horrible,now I do allsorts I couldn't as a kid e.g sweep, take ice and co! So I can imagine what it is for her to be sickly at this age.If he really loves her he can be praYerful about it,afterall my sister used to have and her child doesn't have it.ignorance is a problem also.she should find out things that trigger her attacks and stay away from it.stay warm all the time also.so many asthma patients take this for granted!the moment I knew these things I got better and attacks reduces drastically.Preventive medicine is also.there are medications she can ask her doctor about such as Seritide,Becotide! Are very strong preventive medication if taken properly .I feel bad for her am sure if she can do these she would be much better.It helped me.But if he really loves her he shouldn't consider leaving her!

according to him she is always weak and sickly, her only sister escaped but still has bronchitis sometimes and hers is not as acute as her two brothers who are really plagued by asthma...her mum almost died giving birth to her due to weakness during labour, she had to be operated on.... this and all this are worries i him and some other other close friends are considering..Their love is so strong and unique that we his close freinds dont even want to suggest .....and maybe kill somebody...

@OP I know that love is blind but at thesame you need to know that Battling Asthma is not easy.My momma was once like this and wow she is always feeling weak and tired,Gasping and all.It costed alot of money to treat her in the states after visiting so many specialists in Naija.You need to be a strong believer too because with God all things are possible.But i must tell ya that Asthma patients rely on medications....So if your friend truly loves the girl then i believe that he can travel alot for her because love is blind...

Smokes,dusts can cause Asthma and thats why Asthmatic patients are advised to stay away from frying,sweeping,inhaling dusts..
