Morning dear, I get your question. In OAU Food science and technology is divided in 2, Food Science and Food Engineering. You don't get to choose, 1 is given to You automatically, I was given Food Science and I am in 200 level.

If you are in love with the sciences and you know what you are doing, you will make it. With determination, the God factor and hardwork, you will do very well in Lautech. That's what I studied there too

The job opportunities for pontential food scientist are enormous.You can with NAFDAC,FIRRO in oshodi,NDLEA,Dangote,honeywell,nestle,chivita,Ministries of Agriculture etc.U can stil become ur own boss bc the course is self employ.You may start any food processing firm like flour,bakery,water,drinks,yoghurt etc.In short,the sky is your starting point.

I'm a graduate of Fst from FUAM awaiting my nysc. Fst is a vast and interesting cus without food safety and food standard and legislation, we as a nation and the world at large wil not be able to know safety, d content of the foods,composition,nutrional level and in tackling food security. Even down to packaging requirements for each food. So fst is not all abt cooking, it entails, food processing,food chemistry, food biotec, food microbiology, food anaylsis, preservation of food,food engineering etc

I later gain admssn to study my dream course food science... now in 100l
better by far university

Recently got admitted into UI via D.E, I'd like to know if there is an option in UI for students to specialize on a particular branch e.g food engineering. Yes...... there are a lot of professional exam like safety, food law, quality control and assurance.
I served at standards organisation of Nigeria and I was opportune to do those certificate at lesser price

Hello... I am a food scientist(in view). From FUTA, currently on industrial training in on of the drink companies here in lag. That shld say I'm in my 4th year. FST hasn't really gotten the publicity it ought to get but this I can tell u, its one of the most lucrative career path u can ever make. In my next life, its gonna b FST all the way. Av a splendid ride...
