CFCfan:

Chief of State is another title for 'Head of State'. Some Western institutions use the former title when addressing a President or monarch.

So how can there be a 'Head of State' in a particular state of Nigeria. Or are you inferring that the dude is in charge of Edo state grin

I hope Obahiagbon will not cause some serious 'krinkun krankun' in Edo state grin

Actually made sense the first time I watched it. Yes, he could have communicated in much simpler terms, but if you listen dispassionately without laughing or getting irritated, he does make complete sense. Except of course for terms like higi haga and some others.

As far as i'm concerned, that man is talking thrash.... infact if you read the body language of the panelist..they must be wondering in their mind..." how can a grown-up man behave like this?"
what does somebody mean by saying " my critical history and historiography of the study of.....?"
Infact a primary 4 pupil will do well to correct him, its a real pity!
Even if one has to use ambiguous english words to impress,he/she should ensure that the sentence derived when using these words makes sense, and also the words should be use in the right tense to ensure proper flow!
Its not by saying thrash on TV!

So what it that you don't understand? Is it that there isn't such a word as historiography? Save for one or two words that I can't make out, most of what he said was coherent.. That he mixes latin words with english ones, doesn't make them less sensible.

From your response, I can only deduce that you are in the same class of Patrick....Let me help you a little.... Historiography is simply the study of history... Therefore does it make any sense when somebody says....( THE STUDY OF HISTORY OF THE STUDY OF....??)

Patrick is creative with words and not english to entertain not to educate. Most people follow him to be entertain and to be communicated to, this is not the aim of bringing him to the public domain. Though I respect him for he is a knowledgeable entertainer.

What he said made sense to you but not to an average English user. What he's saying is just another form of broken English that is yet to be categorized and thus completely off course. You need to be in another realm to make any meaning of it. I still maintain that he has not communicated, he should learn to speak proper English.

drake2005: This is man ought to be arrested, charged and sentenced for wrongly use of English language

Where/when did Patrick tell you that he speaks English?

His language is a complex mixture of English, spanish, greek, hebrew, italian, french, various Nigerian Languages and slang.

I maintain that Patrick is in the wrong profession (politics instead of comedy) however he will always have my respect cos he has always pitched his tent boldly on the side of Nigerians and the truth even when he risked being the odd one out. This unfortunately got him booted out by the powers that be. I only wish Nigerians will cease from being myopic and look beyond the man's peculiar language.
