As part of efforts to solve the power challenges facing
Nigeria, the Republic of Cameroon has entered into
agreement with the Federal Government on the supply
of electricity from the excesses generated from Lagdo
Dam in the country.
The High Commissioner of Cameroon to Nigeria, Mr.
Salaheddine Abbas Ibrahima, said an agreement on
supply of electricity to Nigeria has been signed while
experts are expected to meet and discuss on how to
get common finance for the project either from
external bodies or contribution from both countries to
get the project done.

Can we be like America stupid? USA gets energy from Canada because US consumes more as a result of its industrialisation, while Naija is getting from Cameroun because of corruption and inability to generate electricity in this day and age.

So there is no corruption in the United statesCameroun is trying to sell excess power and Nigeria needs power. Check around the world, you will be surprised how many countries sell power to their neighbors. Even the ones where corruption is a non issue.

I have 100 Watts for sale if the government is interested, I will keep my Mitsubishi on standby.

I will like to be featured on the Guardian newspaper, if not, I will accept the Punch Newspaper.

Hmmm.

What do they mean by contributions from both countries to get the work done? In what capacity? Finance or manpower?

You are the silly one here, it does not matter where the electricity comes from, what matters is that you have it. getting electricity from our neighbouring countries is part of the solution to our electricity problems. Nigeria do not have enough money to provide adequate power for its population, corruption aside. IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE THEN YOU ARE DELUDED.

Oh! SHUT it. Bladdin NOISEMAKERS.

What is wrong in sharing Power bw countries, esp when the source in question (Lagdo dam) are shared bw the country (through River Benue); and, when the project in question may be Co-Financed by both countries as the Report indicates??

You are the fool. Naija generates 4500 MW for over 163 million while Cameroun generates 1100MW for 20 million people . Breaking the numbers for blind patriotic zealots like you.. Naija 1MW serves 36,000 people while in Cameroun, 1MW serves 18,000 people.. half of Naija.. Some idiots like you started using US as a started. US imports because its highly industrialised, Naija is under-industrialised and incapable of building new power plants.. Power sector is a cesspool of corruption in Naija.
